crying, you know actually i am rookie for computer, even not sure what PHP and SQL are, i tried to follow the instruction provided by this site to install cubecart
but failed.


here was what i did:
1, I opend FTP, create a new folder and named it with cubecart under my web name(xxx@XXX.com) and then i uploaded some pictures to cubecart folder

2. i opended the control panel from my hosting provider and created a new databse under SQL databases and assignned a name for it

3. then i did what the instruction said go to browse and enter mydomainname.com/cubecart/ then there was nothing happenned
the pages shows in errors

really looking forward for a datailed installation guide for rookies like me

It's too early to upload pictures to your CC folder. Is your CC folder in a directory called public_html on your server? What is the url of your site?

no, i didn't put my CC folder under public.htm, and my URL is:

hi, i just did a move for the cubecart folder to be under public.html, and uploaded a picture to see if it can be diplayed in browse, it succeed, so just wondering what's next in order to install cubecart v3

Obviously you figured out that not every file should be in the cubecart folder because your site is up and looking good.

yeah, i know that, but i didn't sue cubecart to build my store

this over the existing globla.inc.pgp on your server.

It's in the '/includes' folder

i am sorry but i am really a rookie , i login my FTP and checked folders , i found one folder called included under shopping cart main folder and i couldn't find the existing file called global.inc.pgp

You have a folder on your server that has the CC files in it. Open that folder and there should be another group of folders and one of them is called 'incudes'

thanks rohan, i was trying to upload files i download for cc3 to my server, but the problem was i can only upload file by file but i can't upload one folder at a single
time. do you know if there any way to change it?

here is what happened i uploaded a zip of cc3 to my server

Use An FTP Client Called BulletProof FTP And Upload Your Files.

Your Server Should Have The Features To Unzip a Zipped File... Like Use My Web FTP URL Which Allows You You To Do That.

My Web Ftp URL Is : webftp.exitbuy.com

Put In Your Server Login Details And There You Go……………….

thanks i just did upload and was in the process of installation for cc3

and when i went to step 4 i was asked for my database host name , after i entered and tried several names in my database , it always told me that: My SQL error, unknow database hostname
