Can't wait to see the 3.0.3 update tongue.gif
Al
Shame us Brits can't use it. sad.gif

Pretty sure it's only US paypal accounts right now.
EverythingWeb
Should be good for our US-counterparts then. sad.gif

Thanks Brooky for a great upgrade!! It seem to be all working fine! Upgraded without a hitch. You kept your promise! biggrin.gif

Now, just tell me. Is what you call in CC "PayPal Direct" the equivalent of what PayPal themselves call Website Payments Pro? Or is PayPal Direct something else, and can you use it without WPP?

It appears to me, from what I see on PP site, that PayPal Express is not the same as Website Payments Pro, and you state that you cannot use PayPal Express without also PayPal Direct. ???

Can you please help me out of my confusion, thanks! wacko.gif

what is the difference in all the paypal gateways
Al
PayPal Standard - Very basic and easy to cheat
PayPal IPN - Very Good not easy to cheat but not seamless.
PayPal API (Express Checkout & Direct Payment) - Seamless more professional looking the most advanced.

Whats the exact difference between paypal standard and paypal IPN.

I guess paypal IPN is the one where CC sends customers off to paypal then paypal goes to a return URL (much like nochex does) ?
Al
It says on PayPal.com

Hi Brooky

You say Paypal is not available for us brits.... If you go to your profile in PayPal then API Access you can apply for one there.

I hav done this and got my API cert... but the gateway does not seem to work. I am on latest version of cc.

Any ideas?
Al
Yeah the company PayPal account is UK too and it is there...

Let me look into this..
Al
If you turn on debugging what do the logs in /pear/tmp folder say?
acweb
Cheers Brooky

I have read through the PayPal help files but cant seem to find out whats going wrong!!

Be good if you could sort this out for us!! Good Luck!!!
Al
It's funny I swear the US PayPal site has more documentation and stuff.

Let me have a fiddle..
acweb
I have sent you am email with the output from the debug.

Hi Brooky

I have now submitted a support ticket... I PM you last time Sorry

Adam
Al
It contained the following errors:

1. The expiration date of the credit card is invalid.
2. Invalid Credit Card.
3. The credit card entered is either not a valid credit card, or does not match the credit card type in the CardType field.
4. The currency code submitted is not supported. Check the currency code and try again.

I'll look in the reference manual to try and see if GBP is allowed...
Al
According to the reference guide GBP is supported....

Direct Payment only supports USD at this time. You must also be a US Business account and have complete the application for Website Payments Pro and agreed to the Pro User Agreement.

Is there not any way we can put some "pressure" on Paypal.co.uk to adopt the Pro setup for UK business' ?

Seems like it could be the answer to a lot of our prayers for payment gateways....
Al
I would imagine they already have quite a lot of pressure on them to get it done.
acweb
I really hope they do!!!
I am think of contacting them about it!!

Why let me create a API cert if I can not use it!!

A
Al
Stupid isn't it. I actually paid a guy from the US to make the API gateway for CubeCart 3. I couldn't get it to work at all, but as soon as I setup a US sandbox acount it worked. smile.gif
saztar
sandbox is great isnt it... i accually used it first on the paypal API for my cart.. sense i have also made one for cubecart v2..

i like paypal whole system.. it is well worth the fee's they charge..

I have already installed my Paypal API cert. My store recoginzes it but I'm not able to actually complete a purchase. If I set up a sandbox account will I have to take that API cert out and install one that the sandbox gives me or can I use the same one I already have? I know if you install your Paypal cert then unstall it that breaks the cert and you have to apply for another one.

Thanks,
Dale
