This morning my colleague called me and said the store was hacked, first thought was "F***k!! it's all wrecked"(yes i take backups, but that did'nt cross my mind when i heard the store was hacked tongue.gif), fortunately it was only the forum(phpBB). Screenshot!

I hate this so called "hackers", do'nt they know that Hackers Do Not Break, They Build!

I'm sorry to hear that Spanjis.

Too bad they choose 'end up in jail' road rather then a useful road. I did some research awhile back and it seems there are tons of SERIOUS hackers who access sites all the time but don't do anything, because their intention is not to *to destroy*. The ones that leave their marks are no doubt looking for attention. Not all hackers are bad. The smarter hackers actually take time to hunt down the ones who destroy sites and use their hacking skills against them. Think of all the biggest hacks on the news and they were all caught by hackers themselves.

Thankfully you've got backups.

True true sunshine smile.gif

In the New Hacker's Dictionary, the primary definition of hacker is "a person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems and how to stretch their capabilities, as opposed to most users, who prefer to learn only the minimum necessary."

"a malicious meddler who tries to discover sensitive information by poking around." The dictionary says the correct term for this meaning is "cracker," a term invented by the hacker community more than 15 years ago to stem the tide of the mass media's misappropriation of "hacker."

Most of the users in this community are hackers wink.gif

It was probably a script-kiddie that "hacked" my site.

SQL injections have one purpose to destroy wink.gif

Are you using phpBB2 version 2.0.17?

Sorry for your problem - I lnow that feeling, but when it happened to me they were "gentle" and only changed my homepage.
Spanjis
2.0.11, i've downloaded the update, but didnt get any further tongue.gif shall update it asap!
shop.lightspeed.net.au
phpBB is one of the single worst scripts out there to leave un-updated... it's like a hackers playground... if you run a phpBB forum, its imperative you keep it updated smile.gif
Spanjis
Will do!
