Please help as im new to all this stuff. i have a shop online and it worked fine untill. the other day.

I tried to add a new product to my cart and went to upload an image, when i had selected the image i wanted to upload i pressed the 'upload image' button and a popup menue appeard saying

'' Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromgif() in /home/smudge20/public_html/scshop/classes/gd.inc.php on line 56 ''

Can someone please tell me what this means as i dont have a clue!!!
