So I manually installed cubecart because I couldn't get past Step 4 (even with adjusting the permission values..?) everything went fine - I deleted the install directory per instructions and this is now what I have on my page

Try with a diferent skin or try to re-upload the skins folder.

stupid question maybe..how do you change the skin?

ps I tried re-uploading and that didn't work.. what is parse?

The skin is changed in your general settings thru the admin panel.

okay so perhaps this is where the problem was created - Is it under Styles & Misc. ? Because the first two options, which are Language and Store Skin, do not have drop down options. Any ideas on where to go from here because I copied all of the code exactly as it was created for me. Should I delete the created sql files from Mysql and start over?

okay so I tried recreating the sql file - I selected a different skin as well but I am still having the same issue. Does anyone know if this is an issue that is coming from the database or actually from the cubecart directories (ie the skin folder). I am going to try redownloading cubecart and reinstall the entire thing...? any other thoughts?

I had the same problem. Even though items are denoted as comments, I guess the CubeCart engine needs them during some parsing routine. Be sure to include the following items:
