Im trying to enable Paypal Direct & Express Checkout. I think the problem is with file permissions which I tried to change to 0755 for all subfolders in the pear folder except tmp folder which should be 0777. The files permissions cannot be changed, instead I get 004.
Now I cant access the tmp folder after trying to change file permissions.

Please help

Is it a Windows Server? If so, you need to do this in your control panel (if you have one), or contact your web host to make the tmp directory writeable.

What permissions do you have for /images/uploads ?

Its a Linux server (I host with godaddy). I will contact them about this.
The permissions are as follows;

/images/uploads - 777

inside the uploads folder are as follows;
thumbs - 777
some images - 644
some images - 775
