Im looking for a script similar to those used at:
www.download.com (there will not be any downloads, i just like how the editor can offer a review of the software with users also being able to comment).
www.shopping-cart-reviews.com
www.webhostingstuff.com

Basically the software provider will provide their software for review. Once the editor has completed the review it will be posted on the website and then other users would also post their reviews of the software.
There would need to be a banner and featured listings manager as well as a bog standard directory with muliple categories where users can add their link to and it all needs to be search engine friendly.

Currently im looking at http://www.esyndicat.com/ which looks like a fantastic directory script at a great price but im not sure its completely suitable.

Can anyone offer any recommendations please?

phpmydirectory is a good directory site that allows users to review...http://www.phpmydirectory.com/

operates along similar lines to cubecart (even to the point where their new version uses ioncube!)- theres one basic script but you wont go far in the forums without tripping over someone willing to customise to your needs for very little money indeed....
I know I've seen a real estate version, a 'yellow pages' version and used as a book shop/club with book reviews...

What I like about this one is that in addition to the directory you can also sell advertising on the site. There is also a filtered mass mailer (so you can choose just to mass-mail one category of your directory) and lots more besides.


I've used twice - last time about a year ago. Customer is still using the site and happy with it (full admin to edit everything)...
