Full Version: Looking For New Hosting Site

Hi all. I'm looking for some insight on where to start looking for a new hosting site for our CubeCart store. Our current host provider has informed us that they will no longer be hosting and we have to switch by mid December.

I am COMPLETELY CLUELESS as to where to begin. Someone else set the site up and now I have recently inherited it after the fact. I don't even know the questions I should be asking to find out which is right for our needs.

Starting from the absolute simple basics, can anyone help guide me in the right direction and give me some tips and tricks to look out for? I would really appreciate it!

If you go to http://cubecart.org/directory then you will find a list of hosts known to be compatible with CubeCart.

Thx for your replies, everyone! This is giving me at least a starting point. Not really sure what I'm looking at yet but I'll get there.

Thx again!

I am also looking for a UK based hosting service, the directory is of no help.

It seems difficult to find if the host has everything needed to run V4 as it appears that my current host doesn't

The directory contains specific hosting providers known to be compatible with CubeCart. The fact that they do not advertise every feature does not mean then cannot run V4. Contact some of the providers and ask them directly if they have any experience with V4 and if they know whether their servers are compatible with V4. I know of atleast three providers listed that are compatible and have no problems running V4 other than the bugs with the script itself.
