We "modders" are not allowed to advertise our mod stores in our sigs...we must link to the 3rd party services page to make cc'ers aware of our services.
But everyone else is allowed to advertise their store in their sigs?

Is this correct?

Also, I thought our "3rd Party Services" link in our sigs was supposed to point to our individual listing in the 3rd Party Services section...
Is this not correct?

I believe everyone who offering services for CubeCart store must list their websites at '3rd Party Services'. Not only "modders" but also hosters and designers as well.

I'm guessing it should be. In members sigs, they put a link that direct others to the '3rd Party Services' page to show what members' services they are offering.

I know...but what I'm asking is, does that not apply to everyone? I mean every cubecarter with a store...

I assumed that also, based primarily on what I was told when we were instructed to change our sigs....but not all "3rd Party Services" links in modders sigs, do. Thats partly the reason for my question.
saztar
twisted makes a very good point, i have seen people with link that say ' 3rd party services' that directly link to their store, and what i was told is that anything but what i have in my sig would be removed

Thats a good question... I'm not so sure but I believe it may does apply to cubecarters with a store(s). Stijin and Brooky might be able to answer them (unless they already mentioned in other post somewhere).

stjini cleaned out my sig biggrin.gif but if you ask me this is not gonna work well, like there is oging to be 5,000 3rd party serivces in a matter of months, and fake reviews and votes i dunno i don't think its gonna turn out to be as planned ohmy.gif

and fake reviews and votes

These are not words I would have envisioned ever uttering, but...I have to agree with joshua on that point. I think we are seeing it already...especially with the voting system.
iceman2g
The voting system I think needs some work. I mean 51 votes and not one review written is somewhat suspicious.

this is correct :

Please point me to the members by PM I will contact them asap

-------------------

The whole reason behind the 3rd PS is that the modders (including me) were spoiling the forum with advertisement, instead of helping members on a free basis, since that is the reason for the forum.

I know Brooky is working on the voting system, do give him a little time to make adjustments there

stores are allowed to be in the signature, but not if the store is selling mods for cubecart, hosting,design,...

--------------------

Please be aware that there are not many ecommerce websites tolerating advertisement for add-ons etc on their forums. And if you would like to advertise why not contact Brooky and pay for advertisement?! You can have a real nice banner on the homepage. Not too expensive I believe wink.gif
twisted
Thank you...that is the clarification I sought.

So I can advertise my art store in my sig...but my cc design store must be the 3rd PS link.
I can live with that.
Al
I think Stjinj summed this up perfectly... smile.gif

The voting system has a look up table to store IP address per vote and sets a cookie. You can only vote for your store once a week unless you spoof your IP and delete the cookie every time. Or have a dynamic IP and delete the cookie.

This is about as much security you can take for voting systems.

Obviously any suggestions are always welcome...

p.s. you should be able to edit your listing if logged on. Please email any bugs to us as the 3rd Party section of CubeCart.com was muddled together in about half a day.
OskMedia
no dont' take it the wrong way here, i mean i hope it works but i don't think it will eork as "planned" I think this is how it should be , no voting bye bye ot that, but just review and then whe nthey fill iut out explain what the person DID and where it can be seen at (website link to the work) and those hosting companies where did they come from tongue.gif

The problem I think we are seeing with the voting, is not so much a case of people racking up multiple votes on their own site...in fact, quite the opposite.
What I think we are seeing, is people who are going through and voting 1's on the competitions listings simply to bring their competitions rating DOWN!, as opposed to voting to bump their own up.

VERY TRUE... dry.gif

Even causes people who offering services to either stop doing business (forget CubeCart then go to other place) or upgrading their services when they don't need to when their services had been good-excellent.

The Voting System sometimes confuse people whatever if those voted bad are actually 'bad' or 'good' - sometime whoever vote 'bad' wanted to kill *destroy* others' business to help their own business to grow. EVEN ALSO, THEMSELVES OR GROUPS, FRIENDS, FAMILIES, WHOEVERS.. VOTE 'GOOD' EVEN THOUGH THEIR SERVICES 'BAD'.
