This is at the bottom of Paypal.php file

Doesn't this mean that anyone who signs up with paypal through our gate way Brooky gets the referel money for????

Sorry Brooky but I have a big problem with that.

So I went to Paypal.com got my own link and pasted over the top!

Cheeky Bugger! tongue.gif

EDIT: His affiliate ID is in every gateway!!!

Well we figured out why CC's free mate!

Well Cubecart is not free. and many people do not buy cubecart. there for he need a way to make ends meet as well. I for one dont feel upset at this.

Just dont forget Cubecart is no Opensource as much as i wish it was it is not. and in fact read the TOS it states that its not open source code that in fact it is shareware free to use!

So are you contradicting yourself???

And I don't see why he 'the creator' should be making extra bucks off our backs!

If you purchased a tv license would you be happy for someone to watch your tv through your front window every night??

Sorry, but I'm not with you on this one.

What about all those people who are not aware that Brooky is doing this?

If they knew do you think that they would allow it to continue?

(And do you know that it's £75 a time for a paypal referel?)

oh wow. odd. But I don't care. He made this cart, he deserves something for it. I noticed you dont have a license? Neither do I, therefore I am 'Helping' him by being a referal or whatever.

Dont worry about it, seriously.

My 2 cents.
afksky
What about all the people that dont pay to use the cart????? there are more freeloaders then buyer of the cart..

Can't forse to buy a license. Customers are free to do or don't.
If they do : nice for brooky.

The reason I baught my license:
I'm verry thankfull that brooky set Up this script.
afksky
I am not trying to force anyone to buy. fact i dont get anything if they do or dont.

Just voiceing my 2 cents...
jbdancer
know that afksky. Extra info wink.gif

I don't care that that is in the admin gateway - function. Why bother? your customers will not notice the difference.
OskMedia
its actuslly a very smart idea, most likely doesn't bring in to much casue most people have paypal thiunk about it, -----------Josh
Bitz'n'Batz
ah but if you bought a license would you be told about the gateways?????

Dont get me wrong, i like cubecart.

You say its shareware but then you say it ant free.....which is it????

If i bought a license i would of wanted to know that so i could change it not to mention its not just paypal, its all the gateways.

My 2 cents biggrin.gif

DO YOU PEOPLE REALIZE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT????

The affiliate payment that goes to brooky is when YOU sign up for a paypal account (or whatever other account), not when your customers sign up for it. If YOU do not have an account when you are setting up your gateway, and if you do sign up for a gateway when you use CubeCart, then brooky is getting a small amount of money. Why would you not let him take a small cut from that? It doesn't cost you anything, and you could not possibly gain anything by changing the affiliate code (since you are certainly not an affiliate for a processor that you are not even signed up to use)...

Please think about what you are looking at before you jump all over it.

If I'm not mistaken you are not really loosing very much through paypals referral system unless you have 1000's of customers. If you do have 1000's of customers and you haven’t bought a license then shame on you! mad.gif

I have bought a license from brooky because I know it takes a long time to learn how to code software like cubecart. If I'm going to make a profit from brookys hard work then I feel that I should pay him back in some way.

Shareware is "free to use". There is a difference between "free to use" and "free". Free implies that you can do what ever you want with the software when in fact there are restrictions on what you can and cannot do. Even licence owners have to abide by the software license.

LOL, I had forgotten about that it was done so long ago. And I had wondered why we had recieved affiliate comissions from 2CO when we removed our link off the new website. None from PayPal though.

Sorry folks. It should be made clear on that page but makes no difference to the price to join 2CO. smile.gif

rolleyes.gif
Al
I'm honest here and I can see how it may appear cheeky although what it is doing it taking the normal price for an sale of 2CO and giving a small bit to brooky smile.gif. I have refered a few people to them so I get £3.50 for potentially tens of thousands of pounds to them. You should be pleased the multi nationals spare a dime for me. LOL smile.gif

Those affiliate links in CubeCart AND the old links which where on the old site homepage have made $208 since 03-01-2003. If you work that out AFTER the exchange rate it is negligable.

They will not be included in CubeCart 3.

Huh! huh.gif

I do love cubecart wub.gif and there is no dening Brooky deserve fair & fare for it smile.gif

So if everyone is happy about it then who the hell am I to rock the boat??? rolleyes.gif

Not I! I is a nice person innocent.gif and will take it all back and give sincere apologies for any offense to all blushing.gif

But on the bright side........It gave eveyone something to debate that wasn't "How do I change the color of.....?" and "Why won't this work?" !

Ahhhhh..................I love cubecart! wub.gif
Al
I wasn't offended. smile.gif

I do think that it should say those links are affiliated somewhere on that page though. smile.gif
afksky
I think maybe you need to keep them links in 3. i know its just a small amount but hey for all them people making 1000s off your work at least you get a tiny something smile.gif Just my 2 cents
saztar
yeah.. brooky..

i know isnt some time.. that i know i dont .. and a doubt you have... but maybe if you made a 'sign up for paypal' form you would draw a lot more referrals.. i know paypal atleast allows you to make a 'on site' sign up form and forward them the info... and they would then be able to take care for the cc info and all that.. but the basic sign up info would be locked.. and you would get your referral..

who knows... all of it is very little money anyways.. and i think you can max out a referral at $1,000 USD... which i dont see why.. but... paypal is a ebay company :-x (trying to not say bad things) ..

anyways.. :-x.. my ($0.02 USD)
