Just installed Zen Cart and it Rocks! no more paying for mods for me, everything I need is included for FREE and I don't need to pay for any license to take away the branding, that can be done for FREE too.
BOOYACKA, BOOYACKA, Zen Cart YEAH!!!
It's a good cart based on OSCommerce. BUT has all the downfalls of OSCommerce too...
Wait till Thursday 31st March

I have no doubts about Cube Cart being right for me, I looked at a couple of hosted carts, but they couldn't offer what I wanted, then I cam across Cube Cart, once installed I knew that I had found what I was looking for, I am really pleased with how easy it is to work with and to change and mod things.
A BIG thanks to Brooky for not making Cube Cart like the others

Thanks... and thanks from me to all the great people who help out here in the forums.

Even without the Excel mod you can still uplaod as a csv and that alone was a selling point for me
(Now i just need a linkpoint gateway and to install the sales tax mod)

Ya know those hammers they bought out for ladies? Pretty pink and blue ones with flowers? Thats Zen cart....it looks prettier......but its still a hammer!
Yes Rob...it was me that called it the lumbering beast.
In the last 4 years, I have probably tried.....AT LEAST 30 different cart scripts...for the last 3 years, i have been using cubecart [since when it was still known as e-store].

I am not sure about the upcoming upgrade to CC3 if it is as problematic as version 2 then I will keep a wide berth. In my opinion zen cart has much more to offer than the competitors, I have been using zen for over a week now and as yet I have not seen anything of the problems people talk about.
to reiterate my previous excitement:
BOOYAKA, BOOYAKA, zen cart yeah.
Wait untill tomorrow

I liked the zen cp, it's quite useable, but on my test server (a slow old raq550) it was taking 3.5 to 4 sec to build a page and that was with only 10 test products. That was not going to be suitable as I have a client with the same old server. Changing to CC a month back has proved great and the pages build in a flash. So looking forward to 3, go for it Brooky. Bye bye zen!
Wow and CC2 is very intensive. CC3 is lightening faster.
Get your hands on a server from www.beachcomber.net
I was blown away (and still am) to get a p4 2.8GB (hyperthreaded) with 160GB 1GB RAM and 1.5 Terrabytes of data transfer a month.
Oh and cPanel for a measly $149 a month!!!!
Blown away by that.
Oh and the page size of CC3 is only 20Kb (about 50% being one image) that means you can have a very high traffic site low server load and next to no bandwidth usage.

well..
i like OSC as well as Zen Cart, they are both great.
but CC is more friendly in my openion, the only thing i would love to see in the future is an advance Template system ( such as Invision Power Board 2.0.3 )
and ofcource i would love to see the log in eccapt username instead of email address.
Finally, thanks to brooky for the fine piece of art and thanks to everyone creating mods for CC.
p.s. i cant wait to see how the CC 3 final release turns out

I came running here after trying EasyShopMaker Pro... Nothing easy about it, trust me. And the "support" staff is extremely arrogant and hostile.
So for me it is a relief to actually find a product that does what *I* want AND that has these most excellent support forums, where everyone actually helps eachother.
Well done everyone.
Thank you. It is so nice to hear that and brings a very positive light on future development and a great community.
