  1. In the skin's config.xml, find the <image reference="category">. It is set for 800 pixels on the longest dimension. Change this to 900. It will auto-scale down to fit the container (which is 848 px wide). Next, you will need to find the CSS rule (I do not know where it would be.): .cat-hdr-img img { margin: 0px auto 5px; } Change to: .cat-hdr-img img { margin: 0 0 5px; } This CSS change will remove the margin that the browser adds to either side of the image, in equal part, to center the image in the slightly wider container. Be sure to clear Cubecart's cache.

  2. The developer will probably / should be releasing a new version of the skin to take account of all of the skin changes included in this recent version. However, if you are using a modified version, then that update will not automatically apply to your store and you should chat to the developer about this. If you dont make all the front end skin changes then you wont be able to take advantage of any fixes / new functionality that has been added - you may say that you dont need this functionality but it is always best to stay fully up to date because the situation simply gets worse and worse with each upgrade that is released - this is the problem with having custom changes

  3. There will be some problems with PHP 8.0+. There are several incompatible changes compared to earlier PHP version families. PHP 7.3 is in the same situation as PHP 5 - end of life. I think PHP 7.4 would work without too much trouble for CC642, - again, end of life.

  4. From what I see, the CBurst "View Product" page will show a "Swipe Gallery" if there are more than one image assigned to the product. (This is not images assigned to options.) If there is only one main image assigned to the product, there is no gallery. (The images posted above suggest there is more than one image assigned to that product.) So, there are edits that need to be made to the skin so that "Images Assigned to Options" feature will work. But not on a Gallery. I will post what those edits are soon. (There also seems to be a problem with some CSS code bleeding over into the Short Description area.)

  5. I tried uploading a sscreenshot but server rejects it, error code 200. Instead: Product with webp image: https://cavalier-gift-shop.org/magic-puppy-valentine-s-card.html (fails) Product with a jpeg (any other product): https://cavalier-gift-shop.org/best-cavalier-mum-mug.html (all ok)

  6. There are three phases to CubeCart's search function (four for CC650+). For short words, the last two phases will be the only ones to find that one short word: the whole word man, or the part of the word commander. (The first phase(s) will not look for a word with less than four letters.) CubeCart's search will look at the product's Name (Title), the Product Code, and the product's description. Therefore, if the last phase was the phase that actually found something, the irrelevant product shown might have had a word with the search term as part of it contained in its description. There was another conversation on the forums asking if it is possible to have CubeCart ignore looking at the product description for the search term. That can be done, but would require a code edit. As for the strange missing products that have "man" in the Name (or Title), perhaps we can explore why that is happening.

  7. Since upgrading to version 6.5.2 we have the following issue: For reference our shop is located at https://www.airbornesappers.org.uk/shop/index.php We do have products with a Sale price entered, which are less than retail and greater than zero In Store Settings - Features we have Sales Mode set to Per Product, with Number of sale items to display set to 20 I don't know if the upgrade to 6.5.2 has caused this, all I can say is that prior to the upgrade Sale Items were displayed in the Sale Items category I've searched other topics and checked as much as I know what to check but can't fix this error Any help appreciated Thank you

  9. In shipping.class.php: Find near lines 237-240: $this->debug(sprintf('<strong>&gt;&gt;&gt; Shipping zone [ID %s] matches the delivery address! Use this zone for shipping calculations.</strong>', $this->_all_zones[$i]['id'])); if ($this->_settings['multiple_zones'] == 'first') { $this->debug('Looking for first matching zone of best match (instead of searching for all matching zones - see AIOS module settings)'); } else { Change to: $this->debug(sprintf('<strong>&gt;&gt;&gt; Shipping zone [ID %s] matches the delivery address! 11. In admin, Email Templates, click the language of the email you wish to edit. On the next screen, on the HTML Content tab, note that in the list of Available Macros, there is {$DATA.customer_comments}. Add this to the HTML of the email wherever you wish. For example: Find: <p><a href="{$DATA.link}">{$DATA.link}</a></p> Add after: <p>Your comments about this order: &quot;{$DATA.customer_comments}&quot;</p>

  13. Nice idea! In admin, Maintenance, Rebuild tab, there is a means to "Reset all product view counts". "Views" is one of the choices on what criteria to base a query for "Best Sellers" (aka Popular Products). But resetting Views might be overkill for some. I have in mind a text box next to Store Settings, Layout tab, "Source data for popular products" saying, "Within the past [###] days." This won't be a date range, but will this suffice for your needs?

  14. Yes. That data item is found in {$PRODUCT.use_stock_level}. The code sequence: {if $PRODUCT.use_stock_level}Extra language{/if} will need to be in template code (as opposed to the "Description" content of the product's data).

  15. The package of files that has been offered to replace a few existing troublesome files did have a change in the one file (ini.inc.php) that declares the version (now 6.4.9). Replacing these troublesome files does not require that setup be run again. This package contains no changes to be made to the database or the database contents. Hence, normally, setup makes an entry in the database table CubeCart_history with the version "processed" and the timestamp when it happened. But simply replacing these troublesome files did not also make the appropriate entry in the CubeCart_history table. Using an external database utility, view CubeCart_history and change the value "6.4.8" to "6.4.9".

  16. Currently, no. But, CubeCart has the ability to respect a custom API call that a "cron job" would execute on schedule, as well as hooks that could be used every time that a web page is requested to update if a specified amount of time has elapsed since the last update.

  17. Decided to persist with getting the wamp server to work in a ssl mode, so I could use PayPal commerce working offline with CubeCart. Well it has gone 10pm now and after looking at lots of variations on other sites and lots of trial and error, I have FINALLY got the PayPal Commerce extension working fully in wamp, meaning I can develop my sites offline and upload to live servers when completed... Yay.!!! This is the difference with working with outfits like CubeCart, you get help rather than sarcasm and assistance rather than bitter critique. Forwards and onwards..... Thanks Al

  18. Thank you. By way of a bit of background for you. In the early stages of our online shop journey we checked out many different platforms including some of the well known names such as ZenCart. We found the setup of these other platforms to be quite difficult and certainly not as well organised and intuitive as CubeCart. The ease of setup and the organised admin area were the main reasons for us deciding to go with CubeCart, a good decision and we look forward to using it for a long time to come. These forum pages have been a big help, we really appreciate you being there and the assistance you provide, keep up the good work because no doubt I'll be back

  20. For step D, be sure that the updated plugins (that needs the ionCube that works with PHP 7.4) are not enabled. Otherwise, there is still the situation of an ionCube-encoded plugin wanting a later version of ionCube that is not running under PHP 5.6. Otherwise, the above is the sequence of steps I would suggest.

  21. If you have CubeCart's debug mode enabled, turn it off. I *believe* that switching off Debug mode will quiet the PHP8 Warnings (used to be Notices in PHP7). As for Google, please see: https://github.com/cubecart/v6/issues/3047

  22. In Catalogue Mode, customers are not even able to add items to a shopping basket. So, there is no way for CubeCart to log what the customer wanted. The admin can try to not enable any Payment Gateways. A shopping basket should be created and an Order Summary created, which the store owner can review and amend in CubeCart's administrative backend. But there will be no means for the customer to actually pay for the items via CubeCart.

Some of these edits assume that the edits and file replacements found in the prior report have already been made. PHP8.1_Changes2.txt.zip

  28. In a stock install of CC6, the list of images to play in the slider is part of the HomePage document. In admin, Documents, click the Edit icon of the document shown as having the HomePage button selected. You may have an easier time of it by using the editor's Source mode. The slider is optimized to show 1000x300 pixel images.

  29. The way I do it for now is... Post the video on youtube, then choose: share embed copy Then move over to your product page description press source (upper left) scroll down where you want the video paste press save enjoy Example https://vleesvoordier.nl/webshop/riverwood-snacks (done in the category for example)

  30. Sorry for the delay. One option would be to use the HTML <video> element in your category description. So you would upload a mp4/webm or ogg video to your site then when writing your description click the source button on the text editor and use something like <video> <source src="catvideo.mp4" type="video/mp4"> Your browser does not support the video tag. </video> Only issue is you'd have to play around with adding some other html and styling to try and get the layout right. Alternatively you could add a button and have the video load in a pop-up modal.

  31. Hi, Without knowing anything about the images (size ect) you intend to use i can only give a vague example. Assuming the images you plan on using are all the same size/dimensions then you could do something like: 1) Upload the 4 images to your site (for the example below i've used square images and uploaded them to root > images > source ) 2) Admin > Documents > Select the document which is your homepage 3) Select the "Content" tab and then click the "Source" button on the text editor. 4) Add some html to display your image "buttons" - For the example i am using square images so layout might need changing if you use rectangular images. <div class="home-blocks"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/mens_sale.png" title="Shop Mens Sale" /> </a> </div> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/womens_sale.png" title="Shop Womens Sale" /> </a> </div> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/childrens_sale.png" title="Shop Childens Sale" /> </a> </div> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/clearance.png" title="Clearance Sale - All Stock Must Go!" /> </a> </div> </div> </div> 5) Add a small bit of css When adding custom css styling i recommend you create a custom css file so that they don't get lost during any updates. To create a custom css file go to skins > basix > css and make a copy of the cubecart.default.css file and rename it cubecart.custom.css Open cubecart.custom.css and add the following .home-blocks{ text-align:center; } .home-blocks a { display:inline-block; margin: 10px 0px; } .home-blocks a img{ max-width:100%; } @media (max-width: 767px){ .home-blocks .col-xs-12 { width: 50%; } } then go to skins > basix > templates > element.css.php and add <link rel="stylesheet" href="{$ROOT_PATH}skins/{$SKIN_FOLDER}/css/cubecart.custom.css"> And clear your site cache via your admin panel.

  33. Hi Lyd, If you edit the page/document via the admin panel "status" should be ticked and "Show link to document in storefront?" unticked. This should hide the link in the footer but leave the content accessible by the new nav link. If you are linking to a category, don't create a new page/document as stated in step 1. Simply just do step 2 and use the url for the category for the link. Thanks.

  34. Hi Lyd, It is possible to add to the area you mention, however anymore than 3 can cause a layout issue on screens between 768px and 991px (the joys of responsive websites ) you can free up a bit of space by removing the "register" link and just have a login link (theres a register link on the login page and register options during checkout so no biggy) To Add A Page 1) Create a page (Admin > Documents > Create Document) When you create the document a link should appear in the footer of your site. Make a note of the link. 2) Open basix > templates > box.navigation.php Add your link (i've used Affiliates as an example) to the bottom of the list. <li itemprop="name"> <a itemprop="url" href="http://exmaple.com/CubeCart/affiliates">Affiliates</a> </li> and save. NOTE! The navigation file gets cached so you will need to clear your sites cache if you have the cache enabled. (You should have a Clear Cache button in your admin header) Remove Register Link (OPTIONAL - Upto you if you want to) basix > templates > box.session.php Find and remove <li itemprop="name"><a itemprop="url" class="parent-link" href="{$STORE_URL}/register{$CONFIG.seo_ext}">{$LANG.account.register}</a></li>

  35. My bad. Replace that other new code with this new code: if (!empty($item['product_options'])) { $product['product_options'] = array(); if (($list = unserialize($item['product_options'])) !== false) { foreach ($list as $value) { $product['product_options'][] = $value; } } else { if(method_exists($order,'unSerializeOptions')) { $options = $order->unSerializeOptions($item['product_options']); } else { if(empty($item['product_options'])) { $options = array(); } else if(($options = cc_unserialize($item['product_options'])) !== false) { } else if (($options = cc_unserialize(base64_decode($item['product_options']))) !== false) { } else { $options = explode("\n", $item['product_options']); } } foreach ($options as $option) { $value = trim($option); if (empty($value)) continue; $product['product_options'][] = $value; } } $product['product_options'] = implode("\n", $product['product_options']); }

  36. The POF module prior to 1.2.2 had its own code to email a courtesy email confirming the order was placed. Version 1.2.2 now is supposed to use the established code in CubeCart's core codebase. Looking at 1.2.2 (version 1.3.0 is the same), it seems more work needed was mentioned to the programmers, but didn't get done. So, please make this edit: In the Print Order Form module, gateway.class.php, near line 206, find: if (!empty($item['product_options'])) $product['product_options'] = implode(' ',unserialize($item['product_options'])); Change to: if (!empty($item['product_options'])) { if (($list = unserialize($item['product_options'])) !== false) { foreach ($list as $value) { $item['options'][] = $value; } } else { if(method_exists($order,'unSerializeOptions')) { $options = $order->unSerializeOptions($item['product_options']); } else { if(empty($item['product_options'])) { $options = array(); } else if(($options = cc_unserialize($item['product_options'])) !== false) { } else if (($options = cc_unserialize(base64_decode($item['product_options']))) !== false) { } else { $options = explode("\n", $item['product_options']); } } foreach ($options as $option) { $value = trim($option); if (empty($value)) continue; $item['options'][] = $value; } } }

  37. Hey @radman The W3W compatibility notice in the admin panel is cosmetic - Providing you enter your W3W info it will work as intended. It's just in the admin panel it looks for a certain skin file to determine whether or not its compatible, however for the updates i approached it differently so the certain skin file isn't there. As for the other issues, i can only assume something might have been edited incorrectly during your update, i can't seem to load your site (503 Service Unavailable) at the moment so i can't check whats going on.

  38. So, the browser did not find ORDER BY popularity DESC. The next step I would like for you to do is edit the skin template box.popular.php and at the very end of the file, add {debug}. Save the edited file. When you next ask for the Homepage, your browser will want to popup a window. Let it. (You may need to request the Homepage a second time if you need to give permission for the popup.) The popup contains all the variables assigned to the template. Scroll down to near the bottom and find $POPULAR in the left pane. If it is there, is there a value for it as shown in the right pane? It might be an array with 20 elements. (Do not post the array here. Just indicate if it is an array with 20 elements, or if the value is something else.)
    1 point
  39. The debug section can be quite lengthy. Your browser has the ability to Find things in the web page. Usually by the keyboard combo CTRL-f. In the small bar that opens (maybe at the bottom of the browser window) enter one of the terms I mentioned above. If not found, find for the other term. Do NOT copy/paste the entire debug section into a forum post.
    1 point
  40. In admin, Store Settings, Advanced tab, enable debugging and enter your IP address in the adjacent field (www.showmyip.com). Then, on the Layout tab, verify there is a value greater than '1' for Number of popular products to display. Also note the Source data for popular products. Then request your homepage. At the bottom of the page will be a grey section with a lot of some diagnostic info. If the source is by Product Views, then have the browser find ORDER BY popularity DESC. If by Sales, have the browser find ORDER BY `quantity` DESC. If neither query is present, then we need to look elsewhere.

  41. @radman420 by data issue i mean that it would appear no data (in this case Products) is been supplied to the $POPULAR variable which is used to load the popular products section. Since it appears to happen in both the Foundation and Amzin skin that would suggest that it isn't caused by the skins. All i can suggest is pop a message in Technical Help section as this is beyond a skin issue. Perhaps something went wrong during the CubeCart Update or a setting has changed. I'm running 6.4.1 with Amzin and Foundation and the popular box is loading fine so i'm not sure whats causing yours to not load since you updated.
    1 point
  42. Hey @radman420 In that case it would appear to be some sort of data issue then if it doesn't show in both Amzin or the foundation skin.

  43. Hey, I can't offer any guarantees as i don't have access to the plugin and the developers demo site has been suspended (not sure if hes still active with cubecart). Looking at the plugin info and screenshots the only compatibility issues i predict is layout issues on the customer side. Providing the template side of things for the plugin are not encrypted this can be overcome by converting it over to bootstrap layout and adding any additional styling no problem.

  44. Hey, By default the google analytics js is conditional to cookies been accepted so if you don't use the cookies notice or haven't accepted cookies then the code won't run. If you want to run google analytics regardless of if cookies have been accepted then you'll need to remove the conditional statement by skins > amzin > templates > element.google_analytics.php and remove line 1 and 13 like noted below: {if isset($smarty.cookies.accept_cookies) && $smarty.cookies.accept_cookies=='true'} <<< REMOVE THIS LINE {literal} <script> (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){ (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o), m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m) })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga'); ga('create', '{/literal}{$ANALYTICS}{literal}', 'auto'); ga('set', 'anonymizeIp', true); ga('send', 'pageview'); </script> {/literal} {/if} <<< REMOVE THIS LINE

  48. im coming in late on this...but I do this every 6 months. First time I did it there were like 8,000 of those 'fake' customers. Here is the SQL command I used in phpmyadmin on my granny version 3.0 store: DELETE FROM `CubeCart_customer` WHERE noOrders = 0 AND regTime < 1454012330; Since you are running 6.0 then you would probably run it like this: DELETE FROM `CubeCart_customer` WHERE order_count = 0 AND registered < 1460000000; or even better: DELETE FROM `CubeCart_customer` WHERE order_count = 0; It will clean house in a second! i like to put a timestamp on it so that if someone has been shopping in the past two weeks and havent donea checkout yet and are still thinking...then they wont be lost and end up having to reregister.
