Hi, My shop is running cc v: 4.4.3. I had this built for me a good few years ago and now feel that I should be upgrading, however I know I have modifications etc which from reading, I believe I will lose so am loathe to do this myself as I don't know what the site will be like after the upgrade or what I'll need to do to rectify it, I don't want to start something I'll regret! Could anyone point me in the direction of someone experienced who offers a one off upgrade service for a fee? Thanks for reading, Debby

Hi, Thank you so much for your reply. In the global.inc.php file, on the '$glob['dbpassword'] =' line I have the password of the database user. On the '$glob['dbdatabase'] =' line I have the name of the database - I'm sure that's correct, isnt it? But it still shows me the same problem, therefore there is something Im either doing wrong or haven't done In MySQL Databases in my cpanel, I deleted the db user and then added it again so that I could change the password to ensure I was using the correct one but that hasn't helped. I've also sent an email to my host to ask for help, but they've not replied yet. I can't think what else to do. Debby

Hi All, I wonder if someone can help me asap as my shop is now unaccessable I changed the password for my cpanel and now when I go into my shop or try to access my cubecart admin I get the following message.. Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user '**'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/**/public_html/shop/classes/db/db.php on line 37 Access denied for user '**'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I remember this happening a long while back and I remember changing the password in a file to match the cpanel one and it sorted the problem out. From reading up online for the past few hours I thought I'd found the solution by changing the password in the global.inc.php file. However I have done this and am still getting the same problem. I also changed the database password to match but thats not solved it either I'm sure it is solved by changing a password in a file somewhere to match my new cpanel password but after going through tons of files I can't find anywhere else to change it or discover what else I can do - it's driving me crazy and If I don't sort it tonight I won't be able to sort it again until tomorrow night and will in the meantime lose custom If someone can help me asap I will be really greatful!! Thanks for your help Robsta. I click on updates available link in my CC Admin control panel but get the following message [user Error]: _mdownloads_aview not found (includes/functions.php:29) Is upgrading an easy process? Will it affect any mods I have? Maybe I might be better off paying for someone to do it for me instead!..lol. One last question.. is the latest upgrade of ver 3 the best one to go for for me or should I be looking at going to 4 or 5? Thanks again for all your help! Debby.

Hi I have changed my urls to look more friendly with 301 directs and have changed all my sites links other than the urls in my navigation menu on the site. Can anyone point me to where I can find and change these links? Thank you Debby

Hi All, I wonder if anyone could please help me? A few days ago a customer emailed to say they couldn't add anything to the shopping basket on my website. I checked and found the same problem. I emailed the lady who installed cubecart for me but haven't heard anything back. I then emailed my web host and they said the following.. 'It looks like your install of CubeCart uses some functions that are now deprecated in php - there was an error because of such a function showing on the main page initially, now fixed, but items still won't add to the cart.' This means absolutely nothing to me, I know nothing about php but I'm desperate to get this fixed asap as I'm really losing custom. This is one of the busiest times of the year for us and I can't just leave it. I have put a sign on the shop page telling customers they can email their order but I'm sure that must turn custom away too. I can't think what could have caused it. The only thing I have done recently, is add a few jpegs to my homepage. If anyone can offer me a solution or point me in the path of where I should be looking in my cubecart to find the problem I would be so grateful. Good Morning and thanks for the replies, Ideally I need my customers to be able to choose the material they want from a selection which would then take them to a page to choose a shape, then fill in a section that requests their measurements, how measured, control side, fitting choices etc.. before hitting a buy now button and filling in their personal details. When I started out a few weeks ago I really didn't have any knowledge at all about html etc..(still don't now!) If I had known what a challenge it would be I wouldn't have even tried to do what I have! I thought it would be much easier..lol..My site has become a lot bigger than I planned too with many pages. I wouldn't have had a such a problem if my items for sale had just been items, its the customizing of the items I cant seem to link together. The thought of building the site all over again puts the horrors in me..lol..I just want it to be finished now. If I was to pay someone else to do the shop side of it for me would it cost bundles? Would I be able to maintain it myself or would the shop builder have to continue to do this for me? I just don't know enough to start it off myself. If it helps, this is my site so far, dont laugh, I know there are a few things that need sorting out Any advice would be great! Debby.

Hi All, I hope I am posting in the right place, please forgive me if I'm not. I began building my own website/ shop a few weeks ago with absolutely no knowledge whatsoever (just thought I should let you know which level I'm on!) I used a trial version of dreamweaver to build it. I still need to tweak a few things on my pages but thats not the issue. My problem is linking all my product choices together, getting them in a cart and allowing customers to purchase my products. My site is an interior blind shop. I need a shopping system that allows a customer to click on a material of choice, a shape, enter sizes and how they have measured, where they would like their controls and choice of braiding. Now, I really don't know anything about shopping carts and after googling for info on them, am even more confused! I found in my control panel, Cubecart and have been looking at that but just cannot work out if I can use Cubecart for this or how to achieve what I'm after. I have considered paying someone to do it for me but can't even find anyone to ask let alone do it. Could someone please offer me some advice as I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall!
