Thanks for that. I'm going through gui.class.php but still don't understand why {$SHOPPING_CART} doesn't show up on the cart pages. The code doesn't seem as obvious as it did with v3 and v4 lol.

Thanks for replying but as i said, id already done that. There must be a core php file somewhere governing which boxes appear on the cart pages, just as there was in v3 and v4 :)

I'm still trying to convert my V4 skin over to V5 and on my V4 skin i have 3 tabs at the top which each include currency, search and shopping cart boxes. While i've got this working on my V5 template i've just realised that when you go through the checkout pages, the shopping cart box doesn't show up which then brakes my template layout. In V3 and V4 you just needed to edit the cart.php file to add or remove boxes that show up on the cart pages but i can't seem to find the same php file in V5. I've obviously already edited main.php! Can anyone tell me which file i need to edit to add the shopping cart box reference so it shows up throughout the checkout pages please?

Its completely different Al. When i try to use the same html surrounding the tags (is that the right word?) from my v3 template to one of the v5 templates its all a mess Im not a web designer and had my v3 template custom made.

Thanks everyone for your replies and those kind enough to drop me a private message I would be happy to upgrade to V4 because it's easy enough to convert my current template but i see that is going to be discontinued soon too and it seems very unfair to charge customers £120 to upgrade to something that's no longer supported! I'm not keen on V5 to be honest, navigating the back end isn't as user friendly as V3 and V4 but the worst thing is that the template system is completely different, making trying to convert my template very difficult and after 5 years i really don't want to have my website look completely different Thankfully my host is really understanding and has moved me to an older server temporarilly, giving me some time to try out some other shopping carts.

I have a website running cubecart 3.0.20 and my host is upgrading the server to PHP5.3. I hope to upgrade to cubecart 5 during our quiet period later in the year so the PHP upgrade is good news for that but will my existing website running cubecart 3.0.20 work with the latest version of PHP5.3? Is cubecart 3.0.20 compatible with PHP5.3?

Is there any chance you could release the same file difference reports that you've always done with new v4 releases please? Im trying (frustratingly) to convert my v4 skin to v5 and dont want to have to start again every time you release a new version. I was in the same position a couple of weeks ago and then you released 5.0.3 wuthout any file difference report so i had to take the vanilla skin and start again and now you've done it again! Obviously i appreciate you're on top of any bugs found but its so frustrating to have to keep starting my integration every few weeks! At this rate im never going to get finished :cry:

I've been having a few problems trying to transfer my v4 skin to v5 with one of them being the category menu. Ive copied over the css from layout.css in v4 and categories.tpl to common.css and navigation.inc.php but i still cant get this to work Is it not possible to have the flyout menu that the v4 skins had? With so many skins being shipped with v5 i must say im shocked that everyone of them uses the same dropdown menu system and not even one of them having the old flyout menu! Surely the developers hoped hoped v4 users would upgrade to v5 and want to keep their existing design. Its bad enough that just as we start to understand how to customise v4 you then release something completely different! Sorry for the rant, its just really frustrating having to learn a whole new template system just to be able to keep the look of our store and not confuse customers with something completely different! Im sure there's lots of us that started with v3, upgraded to v4 but were able to keep the same design and then upgrade to v5 only to have to either use a shipped template that looks nothing like we've had for 4 years or pay a developer to convert it over :dizzy:

Im currently evulating V5 locally before i replace my V4 store but i cannot for the life of me figure out the new product options setup...Its completely different to V3 and V4! I sell computer parts and need to offer extended support periods which i've always done with a Yes / No dropdown box with Yes increasing the cost and No not increasing the cost. Could someone be kind enough to walk me through the steps of creating a dropdown list with one of the selections changing the original cost? So far no matter what i do doesn't show up on the product page and im pulling my hair out now trying to figure out what im doing wrong It was so much easier in V3 and V4 so why makes things more difficult to use?!?! :huh:

Ive patched my store making the code edit posted but do like to keep my store upgraded to the latest releases but like most i do have mods installed so tend to use the file comparison usually posted. As one hasnt been posted this time can someone tell me if there are any skin changes required in the latest release please? I dont mind reinstalling all the mods again but obviously need to know if my skin also needs upgrading :)
