Hi, I wondered if anybody else is experiencing a problem with Nochex? I set up nochex yesterday and have configured it in admin. It's enabled and all the relevant details such as merchant id etc have been added. It's showing up on the payment pages as a payment option (along with paypal) but when you select it, nothing happens and eventually you get a 504 gateway timeout error. I don't know if i need to do something else to integrate it correctly or if this is a problem with nochex. This has been happening every time I test since yesterday. There's no problem with the paypal gateway. Any help appreciated P.s The website is http://www.pinksquidclothing.com/ and it's currently set up on there in test mode.

Hi There I just wanted to check something and wondered if anyone can advise please? I think all is ok but just wanted to check. On my daughters website I have set up the unique seo titles etc within the general settings. I have set it to overide the global browser title and meta data. When checking the source code online all seems well. However, in general settings the 'global browser title' and 'global meta descrition' fields are now completely empty. That's probably because I have set it to overide the global info, but should it still have something in there do you know? It sounds a bit daft but I don't want to do anything that stops her site doing as well as possible in the search engines. Thanks very much in advance. Denise

Hi With the help of 'sailing123' I have discovered how this is done so thank you very much. May I just take this a little further please and ask one more thing as I cannot see how to do it? If I have a category called 'leggings', my URL says www.pinksquidclothing.com/leggings/cat_14.html. And then click on 'sequin leggings' the URL is www.pinksquidclothing.com/sequin-leggings/prod_2.html. How can I get the URL to remove the end part (e.g./prod_2.html or cat_14.html)? Thanks very much for your answer. I've had another look at the categories and I think I can see why it has happened. That said, in the 'Specific Category Meta Data' section I get them all except I'm not sure what I'm meant to put in the 'Custom Category URL' field? Thanks again for your help.

Hi I wonder if anyone can advise please when it comes to making the store as SEO friendly as possible? I have set up the Seo section of the general settings with the .htaccess file etc and as far as the instructions seem to indicate. (I'm fairly new too Cubecart, and I'm not an expert on this I just follow instructions). However, there are 2 things. 1) When I view source and look at the title tag. I always get 'shop by product' showing somewhere. E.G. if I click on the category 'Evening dresses'. This is what I see in the view source: <title>Evening Dresses - Shop By Product - Womens Dresses......... This is what the URL looks like: http://www.pinksquidclothing.com/shop-by-p...sses/cat_6.html Is there a way to remove 'shop by product' as I only want relevant and 'clean' keywords in the title tag? Is there a way to remove the /cat_6htm part? 2) It also appears that the description tags are the same on the home page and the category pages. Is there a way to make that more SEO friendly too? As far as the settings are concerned this is what I have set: 1) I have filled in all the Global meta Data fields. 2) In the SEO section I have set 'Use Search Engine Friendly URL' to 'Yes'. 3) The 'Meta Data Behaviour' is set to 'Combine With Global Meta (Recommended). Any advise on making this more SEO friendly very much appreciated. Thanks very much

Hi, I wondered if somebody could tell me the code needed to have the price showing on the thumbnails before you click into the product. I have it showing on the latest products homepage but it doesn't show the price on the thumbnails within the categories. Does anybode know what the code is to get the price to show, and where i place it? Thanks a lot Vikki :)

Hi Lee, Thanks again for your reply. Everything you've said makes sense, however i have a problem with resizing all pictures to the same size because it ruins the aspect ratio. I've resized both pics to 311 x 390 and uploaded them- i want the pics this sort of size (300-400) on the main product page. For some reason despite both pictures being exact same size the thumbnail image on the dress now doesn't fit the width of the thumbnail, its too narrow. Thumbnail is still set to 128 as before. Also when you go into the leggings you can see how changing the size has distorted the pic (have tried out all different sizes and one or the other distorts when trying to resize). I'm a bit confused as surely if thumbnail is set to 128 and the width of image uploaded is larger it should be filling the space? I haven't done any of the height stuff yet as wanted to test out resizing pics first.

Hi Lee, Thanks very much for your help! I've changed the thumbnail setting to 128px so that it fits the width set on the div.latestprods. I've also got rid of the -25% on imagecrop img and so the picture now fits nicely width-wise and can be seen. I still have a problem however with the height issue. I have tried changing the 196px height in .imagecrop style but it doesn't seem to make the pictures any longer- all that happens is the pink and white text box disappears and the gap still stays (i've left what's happened on the pinksquid.com homepage so you can see it) Am i doing this wrong? Is it something else i need to be going into to change the height? Sorry if i'm being thick- am not too great at this sort of thing Thanks again Vikki

Hi, I was hoping somebody could help me with a problem i'm having with my thumbnail images. When i upload images for the product, all looks ok in the actual product details itself, but the picture doesn't look right in the thumbnails. Either part of the image is chopped off, or i have a gap between the outline of the thumbnail and where the picture starts, or the image is off centre etc. I thought that when i added the picture it would just be automatically shrunk & recropped so that the image looked the same as the main image, but it was just smaller and fit the thumbnail size. I'm used to working on ebay so i'm used to uploading a photo of any size and having the dimensions automatically cropped and resized but keeping the image looking the same. I don't know if i need to change something within my actual settings, or if i need to be uploading pictures of a certain size in the first place? I know there is a thumbnail size option in admin, but i have fiddled about with this and nothing seems to alter? Although to be honest I don't even really know what this does and what i should be adjusting! By the way when i tried uploading different sizes of images as well (1000 pixel, 800, 400 etc) and always have the same problem. Another thing i'm not sure about is if this is a skin issue... my skin had been custom designed. My website is pinksquidclothing.com and i have to trial products on there with photos. The coral dress is showing one of the gaps i'm taking about. Both images have also been cut a lot down the sides and the text is chopped off. The dress is also off centre. If anyone can tell me how i can get the thunbnails looking like the mian picture, or even how i can make the thunmbnails bigger that would be a big help Thanks in advance

Thanks for replying. I suppose we will have to play around a little more to try and sort this all out. It's a bit of a blow not having 'order shipped' as one ot the satus levels, so that we can just click on that and it sends an email out. Maybe there is a mod? I'll hunt around. Thanks again.

Hi I am new to this cart and am only just getting to grips with some of the admin stuff whilst waiting for a new skin etc to be installed. I wonder if I can ask a few things please as I am looking all over admin, including the language files, but as nothing is leaping out at me I'm too afraid to start meddling in case I mess something up (I'm sure I'll get over it). I am using V4 Anyway the intitial things I cannot seem to find out are: 1) How to edit the wording on the 'thank you' page that customers get after payment. 2) Do they get an automated confirmation email and if so how do I edit the wording if need be? I didn't receive one when testing so not if I should have? 3) I cannot see any 'order status' next to an order e.g. pending and shipped. Is that a facility? 4) Is there a way of sending an automatic email once their item has been shipped? 5) I do not want my customers to have to register before buying, how do I set that up? Hopefully soemone who has a better understanding of all this can help. Thanks you in advance.

Hi Further to my quesion below, I have been researching a little more bit it is still as clear as mud 1) Am I right in thinking that if I use the 'Alternate checkout' for 'Paypal Express' that a customer still needs to have registered - but with Paypal as opposed to with me? 2) One of the reasons I chose to buy CC4 rather than use CC3 was because of there being fewer checkout steps "Checkout steps CC3=4 and CC4=2. Is this automatic in CC4 by setting up paypal within the 'normal pament provider' section rather than worrying about the 'alternate checkout' option? As you can see I'm a little confused. My daughter just needs to use Paypal, allow her customers to pay with a credit card, and to let them do it in then easiest, quickest way without registering anywhere. Hopefully I haven't made anybody as confused as I am myself? Thanks very much

Hi There I am new to Cubecart (CC4) and wondered if anyone can advise please regarding using paypal? I have paypal business account but am confused over 2 things: 1) The difference between paypal express and paypal standard. 2) Which option to use to allow people to pay with their credit card - but with the least steps without needing to register. If I don't want them to have to register, do I use the 'alternate checkout' option rather configure via the 'normal' gateway page? If I want customers to be able to pay via paypal with their credit card - rather than needing paypal account - do paypal express and paypal standard offer the same facility? Sorry but there seems to be a few different options with paypal and I'm confused (I know what paypal pro is). Thanks very much in advance.

Hi There I am totally new to Cubecart and I wonder if anyone can spell things out a little for me please? I have just managed to install the cart and am now playing around with the admin section trying to get to grips with it all. However, I am rather confused when it comes to the product images. 1) Firstly I'm not really sure where all the product images should be stored? With my old shopping cart I literally had just a 'product image' folder where all the various sized image were stored, and then within the admin, on the product detail page I would literally just choose which sizes I wanted to use from that folder. This is a little more complicated (at least very different). Unless I am looking in the wrong place the instruction manual doesn't seem to explain any of this? I have looked in the images folder and within that are other folders e.g. lightbox uploads and general etc. I thought it might be the 'uploads' folder but within that is just a 'thumbs folder'. I though that looking within the 'manage' or 'upload images' would make sense of it all but it didn't? 2) I am doing this for my daughter and she would want thumbnails as well as larger images but as per the above issue I'm really confused how and where she stores and uploads the various sizes to achieve what she wants? I hope all that makes sense? If anyone can remove my confusion with a simple 'step by step' It would be much appreciated. Thanks very much. ;)

Hi There I have just realised that there are 2 forums, so please forgive me for posting in both because I am very confused Hope I am in the correct place and haven't repeated a question (within this forum) but I am hoping someone can advise please as this is all 'gobbledegook' to me! Today I have installed and published the Cubecart files. I followed all the instructions, but I don't know if I read them wrong as far as what directory to install into was concerned, but my first attempt caused a problem. I created a new folder (shop/store) in my hosts equivalent of the public_html folder and published all the files to that shop/store sub folder? All seemed ok, and I had no problem logging into the admin and looking around etc. However, if I typed the store url into the browser I just got the plesk control panel page. My host says I should just have published the files straight into the public folder (or equivalent of) without creating a store/shop directory. I deleted everything and reinstalled as they instructed and all seems ok. However, before purchasing my full license key and installing one of Estelles modules, I wonder if anyone can tell me if the directory the files are installed in makes any difference to the functionality or security of the cart - as I don't want to think 'yippee' I did it, only to find further down the line something is wrong. Does that make sense? 2) Whilst I am here, may I also ask if I should/can protect the admin login page at all? As I haven't now created a sub directory for the files, it wouldn't take a genius to find the admin.php page and try logging in to the admin area. Any advice on these two issues (plus the confusion over the forums) would be much appreciated please. Thanks very much in advance.
