  1. HI,

Thanks for replying, well at least it isn't me!

I don't know how I have done it but I have now got 'ordinary' options working correctly but option sets are still doing the same.

Presumably Al will do his best to fix the problem in the future.

  2. Clean install of 6.1.7 yesterday. Using the Foundation skin, no mods or extensions.

I have created an option called Scent. I have added 8 scents to the option. I then added all the scents to a product, as I add them each one displays its name correctly and they appear correctly on the storefront product page.

However, when I go back to Admin to change each options price, all I see is a list with B as the option description.

I use normally use Chrome, but I have tried looking at the Admin side with IE* and Firefox, all show the same thing.

As usual, I suspect I am missing something very simple, any help would be much appreciated.

  3. Hi,

    Thanks for the help.

Well it works, sort of! I can certainly get it to display the French version but still cannot switch back to English, even using ?set_language=en-US. Very strange as I am sure it was working last weekend.

I'll try updating to 6.1.7 so that everything is bang up to date.

    Hi,

Upgraded to 6.1.7 OK but still have the same problem.

I'll try do a completely clean install and see what happens.

  4. Hi,

I have a site I am doing in French and English using the latest build of CC.

I would like a way to call either language from an html page, i.e. I can easily call the shop from the index.html page but I cannot work out how to call a specific language from that page.

    Ideas anyone?

Just been testing the site and found something strange. The shop comes up in English and I can switch to French by clicking on flag but when it's in French, I can't switch back to English. I will try an install on another domain to see if the same thing happens.

    Thanks

  5. Hi Brian,

I have spoken to my hosting company who tell me that I need to change the php version. The research I have done suggest that CC 6.1.5 should work with any version of php but, I said, I have tried several different version with out success. The odd thing is that I am now semi-retired and I passed all my CC sites on to a friend who is with the same host and all those sites are fine. The site I am playing with now is just to keep my 70 year old brain ticking over!

  6. Hi,

I have a site which I want to have in English and French. I have installed the French language extension and it is setup correctly, the storefront allows me to choose English or French. However, I can't work out where to input a French description of a product.

I am sure that I am missing something obvious and would appreciate help.

    Thanks

  7. Hi,

I have a client with a CC store and we have just discovered that if someone buys a Gift Certificate, the recipient does not get it or a download link. I have tested it and can place an order, pay for it and the store owner gets the payment and notification of the sale but the actual GC does not arrive anywhere.

The store is running the latest CC 6, Foundation skin, no mods and everything else works perfectly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  8. Been having a few problems after upgrading from 6.04 to 6.06.

Trying to sort them out and I have obviously done something silly and now every product is showing as UNAVAILABLE - I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail. I know it's a database problem but as I am not an SQL expert (in fact not much of anything with SQL!) can anyone help please?

    Affected shop is here

    Thanks

  9. Hi,

I have 6.0.2 installed on a couple of test domain prior to taking it live. One of the things I wanted to test is the new backup routines. I have come across a problem no matter which FILE backup choices I make. I have tried this several times and always get the same error, However, when I logout and login again, the backup has been done correctly.

    Any ideas?

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

  10. There is another option but I really don't like it, price the items as 1 off's and don't give the option to buy 1 but only the smallest pack size you do.

To be honest, I don't think that running through 4000 products and making changes is that daunting a task. A simple download of all products as a CSV file, put them into Excel and sort, you'll soon see which ones need to be done. Once done, re-upload if there are to many to do by hand. Sort of job I used to do all the time before I (sort of) retired.

It's actually amazing how quickly you can do jobs like this when you get a rhythm going.

I had a shop which I did in OScommerce with 1200 products which we decided to redo using CC5. There was no reliable way we could find to port from OSC to CC so I did it be hand. First I made all the product options and groups and then I had OSC open in one browser and CC in another and I simply copied and pasted from one to the other. To start with each product took about 3 minutes, by the end, 30 seconds. The whole job was done in less than 30 man hours - my man hours! I did quite few like this as a couple of web developer friends found out I could do it and cajoled me with folding green stuff to do it for them.

  11. Hi,

I have seen this everytime I do an upgrade from 5.x.x to 6.x.x, I have done this about 20 times during the last couple of weeks while playing with various builds of 6.x.x. Logging out as admin and logging back in usually clears it, I think it is something to with server or browser caching. Whatever the reason, it ALWAYS sorts itself out. On one occasion I had to make the browser full screen to sort it - annoying on a 27" monitor!

  12. Hi Ian,

There have been various comments in some threads about Licensing servers being due for a switch off so I thought that I had better make absolutely certain and that is why I asked the question.

Thanks for the clarification - I'll lie on the beach and forget work!

  13. Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered before but I have looked through all the announcements and trawled the forums and I can't find a definitive answer.

Am I correct in thinking that the Licensing Server will be turned off on the 31st of March?

If this is correct, what will the effect be on stores running 5.2.12?

I need to know as I have 2 client's stores running 5.2.12 which for political reasons, I don't want to upgrade to 5.2.16.

I am going on holiday on the 17th of March and won't be back until the 3rd of April and I would prefer that both stores stay as they are until then.

    Thanks

    Tim

  14. There is a quick and dirty way, go to customer list, show all, highlight everything and dump it into a text editor.

If you are using MS Internet Explorer, there is an even easier way, do the same as above BUT when the list is displayed, RIGHT click and select EXPORT TO MS EXCEL, you can the just grab the email address' and job done!

  15. Wouldn't this be simplified if you quoted pack sizes in the description? Alternatively you could do it in product options.  It seems to me that if you had an option for pack sizes or number of packs, it shouldn't be that difficult.

As far as importing your products into 6.0.1, piece of cake! The store I am playing with has approx 1600 products which took about 5 minutes for the database through phpmyadmin. The longest part of the job was uploading the images.

  16. I think you have a bigger problem.

The site is incredibly slow to load - my internet speed is 14Mb down and 1Mb up so it should be fairly fast for me. When I click on 'add to basket' it takes 30-40 seconds minimum to do anything.

Also, if you go to a product page, the shopping cart disappears - I went to the link in your first post and couldn't see a basket at all, I had to click on 'home' before I saw it.

I can't add anything to the cart.

I am using Windows 7 & Chrome as standard - it's actually worse with IE8.
