    That worked!! I had this problem last night and logged out of the computer shut it down for the night, thinking that might reset everything, but nope same problem this morning,

  2. HI all,

    I just tried to add new products to my store , but when clicking on add a product and view products , all of the admin choices are faded out, and when you click on either of these you get the message " do not have permission to access these files" And then you aren't able to choose any of the other choices. You have to logout and log back in, everything else works but those two.

    It has always worked before. Any ideas about what might be happening??

  3. This is very interesting because I just had the same problem. I had an item that wouldn't add to the cart, and it had no product options either. I had just added an option and didn't bother testing- thinking that wouldn't make a difference. Then I read your email and went back and tried.

    Sure enough, by adding a product option choice, it worked. !! I have nooooo idea why, but I'm happy and maybe some one else will be helped by this too.

  4. I had posted this somewhere else on the forum but just deleted and added here.. hopefully someone can help me

    I just had my first customer try to add a sterling silver medical charm to her cart, but it didn't show up. I verified it happens on my end too. For all of the other charms under that tab, you can add products to the cart. It must be some misplaced comma or such, but I have no clue where that information is held?

    Estelle installed the text input fields for me and I have an email in to her, but wondering if it is something I can correct myself. Very discouraging my first customer and she just so happens to order the one item that isn't working. Bummer

    AH HA!! i read back in time and found out another person had a somewhat similar problem, but theres was if there was no product options. LIght bulb, I had just added an option to the one that wasn't working. Sure enough, it is now okay.

    If anyone else has a similar problem you might want to check that.

    and if anyone knows WHY that could be an issue, it would be great to know.!!!

    cubecart has made it much easier and the forum and the answers from you all are wonderful..

    that said.. how can I make changes in the wording of the email that gets sent to the customer upon placing an order. I think mine says..

    "Thank you for your order no: 100717-090317-9049 placed on Jul 17 2010, 09:03 AM

    The transaction was successful and we will ship your goods at the first possible opportunity (if applicable)."

    I'd like to change that but have no idea where it is located, spent quite some time on the forums/documentation/downloads and am confused.

    and what is the most recent remake of the thank you for emailing us etc??? I've found several out there, but now sure which one has the most current info, I know several of the gurus were working on it and I'm having trouble finding out which one is the final rehash.

    You will find the lang.inc.php file (if you are using Cubecart V3) in languages/yourLang/lang.inc.php. the confirmation email text is located around line 2292

    I have no idea where it is in other versions - most of my clients are cheakskates who don't want to cough up any money for anything!

    I'm wondering how we can get the config on the usps shipping to add small flat rate box as the options? IS that something to do with cube cart or with the USPS??

    I'm shipping all of my shipments via the flat rate small box which is $4.95. The only option now is med and large. I've searched the forum and saw that Mysty made a suggestion to change to the flat rate envelope which makes the shipping just a tad less than the box, .05 to be exact.

    But I'm wondering if this will cause a problem with that actual shipping ?? Not sure if I'm making sense here, but if the order goes through paypal , will the correct shipping label print out so I'm not getting boxes returned for inadequate shipping???

    I was trying to test it with .01 transaction and saw something else that is messed up.

  8. Yes, you can enable whichever gateways you want to. Just go thru admin>gateways and complete the settings you want.

    Thanks Mysty, sorry I missed your post. Right now I'm trying to find out what cost are involved in using authorize.net. I know some people won't use paypal so I would love to find another way to take credit cards without a huge setup fee, well $100 is more than I want to spend to set it up front. . And the possibility of being able to take credit cards over the phone sounds very useful. I'm wondering if cubecart has some relationship with the various payment gateways so the cost are lower than what we can get just going by ourselves. Just thinking outlound, unless anyone knows the answers. LOL

    Ok, no one has responded yet and I have something new to add in case anyone sees this. I have an email into Estelle because it seems I've obliterated her code that she put in this weekend for my text input fields. so not sure what I can do before I hear from her.

    If anyone has any ideas, I'd like to just get back to the basic viewProd.tpl in the Killer skins.. I did a back up a couple weeks ago but frankly I don't know enough to follow the instructions on how to retrieve one file out of it.. (if it can be done) And the famous assumption, I assumed Estelle would have backed mine up (she probably did)

    I'm a newbie here and so glad I was able to get paypal ipn up and working with the help of you all. I apologize if this is the wrong place, someone point me in the right direction

    Now that is done, i know some people who will not use paypal and wonder if I can set up multiple payment gateways? Thinking of propal but open to suggestions..

    and on the same problem, I acted like a customer and when i was given the option to pay by paypal or postal order? I chose postal. But that has all kinds of info that means gobblygook to me and probably to my customers. Is there some where I can modify the "postal order" As before with paypai, I've been searching all of the various cubecart forums and not finding an answer to either of these issues.

    Well, i just answered my own question on postal order, apparently it is called "print order form" in the cube cart admin gateway, even though it is called "postal order" for the customer.. just a tad confusing, but at least i can see where all that info comes from.

    and I think I know you can have multiple payment gateways but i guess my question is how to do it? do I go through admin??

  12. Hi Merm,

    do not touch the SSL config in CubeCart Admin. Unless you know what you are doing, it could cause access problems (you'll not be able to log into admin).

    The "www" prefix is depreciated, but its an old habbit for most people.

    For now - keep any testing to the non www version.

    I can't help much tonight but if you've not done so already, I would strongly recommend taking a back-up of the account (you can do this in cPanel).

    Don't worry about asking questions :-) You may find the search facility helpful, but its often difficult to know what to search for.

    Ok, I got it working!!! I tried searching again on paypal and failed messages and came up with a fix from Renaissance. Here's the thread. http://forums.cubecart.com/index.php?showt...mp;#entry174439

    It appears to be a simple fix, with no code changing. I wasn't quite clear on the instructions but he and Estelle figured out that we need to make sure that our PAYPAL primary ID is the same as our Cubecart.

    So, it was as simple as going into my PAYPAL profile, and making sure primary id was changed to the same email as my cubecart. I did that, and went back into the store and made a purchase, and this time, got a message saying congratulations your order went through.. or something like that.

    It WORKED. Thanks Jason for all of the help. Now one to customizing the store and adding products. And so far, I haven't made a single change to code, which is great, since I would probably have brought down all of cubecart

    Ive been having this very same problem

    Not sure if this helps but I was experiencing the same issue a few weeks ago and figured out (with Estelle from Estelle's Mods) the problem was with my e-mail. The e-mail that I had as my default Paypal e-mail address was different than the e-mail I had on my Cubecart cart.

    Even though I had the e-mail listed as one of my e-mails in Paypal, I had to change it to the default e-mail so it would match up when the shopping cart links up to Paypal. It's a really small thing but as soon as I changed this my orders stopped getting the "failed payment" message after customers paid via Paypal.

I went into PAYPAY and changed my primary email to the same email as my cubecart email And just tried to place an order again, and it WORKED!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!     As you used cPanel, there is a setting in the store config that sets the base url of the store.

    By default on cPanel install, this is the;

    Ok, ensure your PayPal set-up in CubeCart is;

    Status: Enabled

    Method: Standard

    Email: (your primary PayPal account email, probably [email protected] as you mention below)

    Test Mode: No

    Default: Yes

    Then, visit your site using;

    http:/mermaidsseajewels.com

    Purchase your test product.

    Post back the findings.

    Ok, I got much further this time. My buyer saw a message saying payment was made, and they were directed back to my site automatically where the same failure message came.

    This time though, I got an email saying I received the payment and I can ship now, and the "buyer" got an email saying they had made payment.. SO it seems everything is working but the message the buyer receives when they are automatically sent back to the store...

    One other question , which I know seems so trivial to all of you, but I'm still trying to understand if you want me to go into CPAnel's File Manager and make these changes

    because I can't find a place to edit it in the store config. When I go into the paypal IPN config there is a IPN url that was already populated with http://www.mermaidsseajewels.com/modules/g.../PayPal/ipn.php, but I can't find this in the store config

    I think I'm not understanding your reply because when i disable the IPN in cubecart, and I try to place an order, the only choice I get is postal order, and I want to use the Instant payment notification. Perhaps you meant something different?

    I went ahead and tried to enable it again and got a update failure,went back into paypal and reloaded and tried to place the order again.

    I get a message saying Thank you for your order, with a transaction code, the heading is [email protected]

    And once again, when I return to merchant, it says

    Comfirmation Screen: Basket Address Payment Complete

    Sorry, your order failed!

    And , Yes I did install through cpanel using simple scripts

    And right, I have to say my husband claims I send negative energy currents into computers so they do things he can't believe. And unfortunately, he is a software engineer with no time to help me get this going.. So I doubt I could follow the "tweaks" you mentioned.

    for recent versions (ie those downloaded in the 2 or 3 years), you do not need to edit any code.

    Its important to know which version you are running. The current release is;

    CubeCart 3.0.20 in computer terms, this is not 3.0.2 (which could be seen as 3.0.02, and therefore very old (12 Aug 2005 according to the download page!!)

    So, if you have altered any code, please revert back to your backup file.

    Skip the instructions between;

    BEGIN: For CubeCart v3.0.17 and prior versions:

    END: For CubeCart v3.0.17 and prior version:

    Now follow;

    PayPal Account Update

    Log into PayPal, browse to 'Profile > Website Payment Preferences'.

    Set Auto Return for Website Payments to On, entering a default return URL. The IPN part of the CubeCart gateway overrides this setting anyway, so you can enter any custom website address. If you are not sure what to use, use your store homepage... http://www.mermaidsseajewels.com

    Set Payment Data Transfer to 'On'.

    (submit/save etc - do not close the window)

    Note: I've used your site url above for clarity.

    Ok, to test, I normally create a very low value test product of value 0.01. This allows me to test sites without worrying about refunds etc.

    With your site set-up as above, post back if you continue to have problems.

    In my experience IPN does not always work. I've always used a slightly different tweak to automatically fix the problem.

    HOWEVER, you are shipping physical goods, and so automatic status changing is not too important - you'll check you've received funds anyway.

    The automatic status changing, from the PayPal IPN system is useful for those providing digital downloads.

    Anyway - post back soon :-)

    Thanks Robsta and Jason, I appreciate the info. I actually had not changed any code so I was okay. I changed the "https" to http: but that was all . I just tried to buy "time in a bottle" :( and I thought everything had went through, I got a message with a transaction code and letting me print out a receipt. I thought all was well until I returned back to shop, and got that error message others have got saying " your order has failed" you can try your transaction again.

    However, Paypal shows the the transaction number and that the amount of .01 was sent, the charge was completed but the amount was unclaimed??? Does this mean it didn't go through?? Back at my shop, it says I received a payment but as far as the customer is concerned, they don't think their order worked.

    Is this where the tweak comes in hand??

    And yes its 3.020 but i have no idea why i have a merchant code, I didn't sign up for one, just followed the paypal ipn instructions.

    Any ideas??

  18. 1)Pardon if this has been answered but I've spent three days looking and being confused with the various cubecart.org, cubecart.com etc forums.

    I've followed the instructions installing paypal ipn from here http://www.cubecartforums.org/docs/index.php?id=75

    I was given a"merchant Id" from paypal and told, to place it somewhere on my site . But I've deleted the "where" and wonder if there is a standard place this needs to be inserted ??

    2)Also, Paypal states * Per the user agreement, you must provide verbiage on the page displayed by the Return URL that will help the buyer understand that the payment has been made and that the transaction has been completed.

    * You must provide verbiage on the page displayed by the Return URL that explains that payment transaction details will be emailed to the buyer.

    * Example: Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed, and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at www.paypal.com/us to view details of this transaction.

    Just where do I insert this or do I have to??

    and one final silly- I have bluehost as my website host, and they provide a shared SSL certificate, when asked for the return URL on paypal, do I choose the http: or the https:

    oh i'm running whatever the latest ver 3, was available this week to download, i think 3.02

    (I have so many windows opened with cubecart I'm totally confused..)
