  1. Whilst attempting to upgrade via the admin control panel I get the following error...

(n.b. the space in front of .zip is as it appears)

    The following errors were detected:

    • Sorry. CubeCart-5.2.14 .zip was not found. Please try again later.

WARNING: Your store is not up-to-date, v5.2.14 is available, but you are running v5.2.13

  2. Thank you bsmither and havenswift-hosting

Apologies to bsmither for taking so long to get back to you on this issue - I was distracted by an unplanned server upgrade that was imposed on me.

I have upgraded to v5.2.9 and will come back to this topic if the problem recurs - hopefully this issue is fixed.

Thank you to everyone for your help

  3. Here are the log file highlights (IPs and domain name redacted)

There are plenty of entries like the first two lines

  4. Yes, I'd love to be able to get to the bottom of this issue

My hunch is that it is a checkout issue, rather than an add to basket issue, although from the limited feedback I've had (from clients of my clients) I believe the issue had already surfaced before they made their payment.

I think the reason why a customer might presume the goods are charged to them later is that some suppliers charge on despatch, and some charge on order.

    What I know

    - it's not payment gateway specific

    - it's not for the same weight

    - has happened twice, both times since upgrade to latest CubeCart

    - the order maintains a structure for the items, including quantity, but excluding item price and descriptions

    - customers have paid for the shipping

  5. From the table CubeCart_order_inventory ...

    product_id ... 0
    product_code ... blank
    name ... blank
    price ... 0.00

    everything else looks normal
by the way, the description uses < p > tags but this is consistent across products

    ******

    From the table CubeCart_order_summary

    subtotal ... 0.00

    everything else looks normal
also worth noting there are other customers with the same shipping weight, worked okay for them, so weight doesn't appear to be the issue

  6. Okay, just want to correct myself on something first - the shipping weights were not the same

Payment gateways were different as well - one was PayPal the other was Barclaycard

There aren't any other problems with the product descriptions on other orders - quantity might be a relevant factor though.

If I go into the admin panel, click on orders, then the order reference number to see the order the items box is as follows...

    9 x - (£0.00) £0.00
    1 x - (£0.00) £0.00
    31 x - (£0.00) £0.00
    1 x - (£0.00) £0.00
    Subtotal:£0.00
    Total Discount :£0.00
    Shipping:£100.00
    Total:£120.00

If I click on the inventory tab the quantities are listed again and the product name is Null, the unit price and price are zero.

The other thing that baffles me is why someone would then go on to pay just the shipping fee, knowing that the items they want delivered would obviously make it cost more.
  7. This one is a little tricky to identify.

We receive an order with say five items of various quantities, plus flat rate shipping.

The flat rate shipping increases with order weight and is at a level that tallies with a the number of items ordered

However the product description is blank (described as Null) and the line item charges are zero

The customer has completed the order and has only paid for the shipping

We don't know whether this is a browser bug, server issue, or back button type scenarios but it has happened more than once and the customers are legitimate. The only common ground is the flat rate shipping was the same amount.

CubeCart is up to date, no mods or hacks.

    Any ideas?

  8. If I give someone a £5 coupon, I want them to get £5 off their order, not £25 off if they order five items. Otherwise it's like giving somebody a blank cheque.

It is a reasonable for a store to offer a range of products at differing prices, say products A B C and D, priced at £5, £10, £15 and £20

It is also reasonable to offer an order discount to promote specific products, say products B C and D

If I wanted to offer a discount of £10 to someone that purchased any of B C and D then I would expect that to be on the order total. The CC5 system has a minimum spend requirement and can lock down to specific products to qualify.

So if someone orders 10x product C, the order total comes to £150

The expected outcome after discount is an amount due of £140

What the CC5 system does is (qty x discount) so the amount due becomes £50

How or why is this acceptable practice?

If someone wanted to discount a product on a per item basis we already have the normal price and sales price values to put into the product details. The current CC5 approach means the whole concept of a coupon system is pointless.

The normal accepted understanding of a coupon is a discount to an order, not to a product line, not to the item, not to the quantity ordered.

  9. Please can someone from CubeCart get in touch with me

I have sent an email using an old ticket number #93754

I am unable to submit a new ticket request due to an SSL issue

    Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to support.cubecart.com.
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
    (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

  10. That is the message you see when you are running the current version - so when your upgrade completed you would be on the latest version and see that message. I think it is misleading to see this at the end of an upgrade process because you would be naturally inclined to follow the on-screen prompt and proceed with the forced upgrade.

  11. There is a (buggy) fix ... go to the US language file and select the second grouping for Address phrases

    Then change

    Cell Phone -> Mobile

    Zip Code -> Postcode

    State -> County

Then go to maintenance and clear your language cache

You may find that "County" doesn't get accepted and keeps reverting to State. The workaround I used was to add a normal space character to the end of this so that the edit was "County "

    What a pickle!

  12. I have a clean install of v5.2 and the same issue, even though I have UK set as the default language and the others disabled.

It looks like the checkout page is ignoring the language preference.

Seeing Cell Phone and Zip Code will grate with most people so this needs changing.

  13. I have installed the most recent version of CubeCart for a clean install and the county list is still wrong.

I know we can add a "zone" for missing counties but I would also like to remove this from being a required field... mainly to avoid an order critical dependency on something that isn't 100% correct but also because it isn't officially required by Royal Mail and was dropped from the PAF in 1996... see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_counties_of_the_United_Kingdom

What I would like to do:

1/ add East Sussex, West Sussex, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire (any others?)

2/ use the correct three letter abbreviations to match

    3/ remove Sussex and Yorkshire

4/ ensure the county list is still sorted alphabetically

5/ remove required field for county on both billing and shipping address forms

Perhaps we could have a MySql patch to run in the ACP for this.
