  1. Hi, V51.1 I am intermittently getting the 'your basket is empty' page when I click to view basket having loaded products into the basket. Ive tested the problem on different computers and the results are consistent so it cant be a browser cookie or cache specific thing. I know that Google updated their version of jQuery held in their repository lately so I am guessing this may have something to do with the problem? I did back step the jquery version to 1.7 as suggested on the forum hoping this would solve the problem but it continues. I have found the only way to resolve the issue is to briefly switch between skins and then go back to my own skin. Weird. I would really like to know what is causing it to happen from the outset with a view of resolving it permanently. Has anyone any ideas or similar occurrences? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks again. Couldn't bear the stress of an upgrade so have opted to manually update the files for now. All working again. Thanks again for your responses.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I was hoping that this had been addressed in the latest version and I wouldn't have to manually patch the files. Can I assume from your reply that cubecart haven't yet made these changes to resolve this issue in V.5.4? Many thanks
  4. Thank you for your response. You may have noticed from my post that I am running V5.1.1. I have been a little reluctant to upgrade to the current V5.4 having read some of the bug reports and issues posted in relation to the various upgrades. In your opinion would upgrading from my current version to V.4 address the jQuery issue? In other words have the jQuery issues been resolved in the latest version? Thanks again
  5. Hi, V51.1 I have a problem with the product options. I am able to create a new product option group but not able to define an attribute for it. I am also not able to add, remove or amend attributes from existing groups. The functionality has been working fine until today but has now ceased to function as expected. I can see and add existing attributes to products using a group attribute that I assigned before this issue but can no longer add new attributes to either existing groups or new groups. When in the option attributes panel in admin I can switch between the groups via the drop down menu however when I switch between groups the related attributes below the drop down menu do not change to reflect the different groups I select. Can anyone help? Many thanks in advance.
  6. Hi, V.5.1.1 I would like to allow for more characters to be displayed in the captions or titles under the images that are displayed as a latest product. At the moment the store only displays roughly 30 letters from the actual full title including the 3 periods... This is causing my titles/caption to not make very much sense. Can anybody point me to the code that governs the amount of characters shown so that I can make an adjustment? Many thanks in advance.
  7. Hi, V51.1 I have a product that I had previously removed from the store but keeps reappearing in the featured product box. It doesnt display an image but I am able to click through to the product description from the featured product box. Does anyone have a fix for this or has anyone experienced a similiar scenario? Thanks in advance
  8. Thanks for your reply, I think my question is probably a little confusing so please allow me to clarify. Firstly, apologies by "Google" I mean search engines in general (corrected). I want to maximize my stores visibility on the web and I want to be sure that my SEO titles are optimized to their full potential. I am not an expert in the field of SEO and welcome any advice here. My understanding of SEO is that the title tag is the first thing that a search engine looks at (I have labeled it SEO real estate to get the point across). An accepted rule in SEO is that the title tag needs to give an accurate description of the content contained in the page it represents. I agree that everything displayed before ? constitutes an SEO friendly URL. However in this instance, the "html?page=#" has no relevance to the actual content of the page. It is purely pagination. And therefore serves no purpose from an SEO perspective. This is open to debate and I welcome comments and advice on the subject but I think I am correct in saying that any wording in a title tag that lacks relevance to the content of the page it represents has a negative effect on SEO. Which of course I would like to avoid. So I think the best way I can answer your last question regarding an expression of a URL is to say that personally I would prefer to see my category pages URL's with the pagination omitted. Is there a way of doing this? Many thanks
  9. Hi, Thanks for your response. I have had a look at the file you mention. Line 116 contains the following code: var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; it appears to be a section of the google analytics JS code. Are you able to advise further? Many thanks
  10. Thanks for your response. I'm afraid that line 116 does not in fact contain any code at all which concerns me even more. Its just white space or line returns. However I had the same error on a different line: [Exception] /home/public_html/includes/lib/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php:627 - Syntax Error in template "/home/public_html/skins/clientskin/templates/main.php" on line 64 "window.___gcfg = {lang: 'en-GB'};" - Unexpected ": ", expected one of: "}" , " " The syntax looks fine to me. The code for line 64 in main.php is as follows: <li><a href="{$STORE_URL}/index.php">{$LANG.common.home}</a></li> Thanks again
  11. Hi, V51.1 I have a question about the SEO URL Formating. I have categories which require more than one page to display all products. In other words sub pages of a category which i guess is a pretty common scenario. The SEO URL title for the first page of my category has an SEO friendly title which does a good job of reflecting the meta data that I entered into the backend of the site. So far so good. However there is an issue when I click to the next page or second page of my category listings - my SEO friendly URL starts to add "html?page=2" to the end of the title. This continues with each consecutive page in the category - "html?page=3", "html?page=4" etc. it will even display "html?page=all" when i choose to view all products under that category. All of these pages are generated in my sitemap with the generic "html?page=#" ending. Search engines do not like these URL's. It's just an awful waste of SEO real estate.. Does anyone know of a way to get the category sub-pages to display SEO friendly URL's. Thanks in advance.
  12. Hi, V5.1.1 Does anyone know what this might be? I have about 8 of these errors all saying the same thing relating to various lines of code in main.php [Exception] /home/public_html/includes/lib/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php:627 - Syntax Error in template "/home/public_html/skins/clientskin/templates/main.php" on line 116 "window.___gcfg = {lang: 'en-GB'};" - Unexpected ": ", expected one of: "}" , " " Many thanks in advance
  13. Hey thanks for the reply. I did try all of those step earlier but nothing fixed the issue. Eventually I uploaded a backup that I had made of my skin files the day before which resolved the problem. I really dont know what the issue was so apologies if you are reading this in the hope of finding a fix. I guess its just a bug thing?
  14. Hi, V5.1.1 I logged onto my site this morning and the page was a complete mess. My main.php has decided not to load for some reason. I really don't get it as I haven't touched anything remotely associated with the core files since last viewing the site a couple of hours before. Very frustrating. My site is unusable at the moment and I have the following system error. Can anyone offer a solution to this? [Exception] /public_html/includes/lib/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatebase.php:127 - Unable to load template file 'templates/main.php' Thanks in advance.
  15. Further to my previous post. I have looked back at validation emails I sent to myself prior to running my store in SSL mode and they still work fine. The issue appears to be with the validation key which is now attached to a secure https URL. The HTTPS seems to be causing the issue. Can anyone advise. Thank you. Sorry I should have also mentioned that I cut and paste the full URL into my browser and removed the "s" from https so that the URL begins with http and I can confirm that the validation key is successfully automatically set in the form field. On that basis I can conclude that there is a bug that needs to be addressed with https and validation key processing.
  16. Hi, I am running 5.1.1 and have the same problem. It was working initially but now no longer functions for no apparent reason. Can anyone offer a solution. Or at least a way of taking the validation key out of the URL and into the body of the email so that the customer is able to cut and paste the key? Thanks
  17. Hello, I need to disable certain zones/countries available under my module settings for both shipping and PayPal modules. Is there a way of selecting multiple zones or more than one zone at a time to disable them. I have an awful lot of zones to exclude and I find myself disabling them one by one via the drop down menu which is taking forever. There must be a more sensible way of doing this? I don't particularly want to remove them from the code files as I may want to include some back in the future. Any ideas anyone? Many thanks.
  18. Got it thanks to you both.
  19. Thanks for trying. Not difficult - but I checked the markup and the p tag the holds the product code doesn't have a class name or id to target it with. I can go into the file that generates the code for the product code and give the p tag an inline style to switch it off. Do you know which file generates the product code? Thanks
  20. Hi, Is there an admin route to switch off the product code visibility from appearing on the front end of the store? Products codes are really essential so I wouldn't want to loose the functionality completely but they mean very little to my potential customers visiting the shop and I feel they just clutter up the space. Apologies in advance developers, there is probably a really valid reason for having them at the front end but I personally could live without them. Other than hiding them with CSS is there a switch off button I'm missing somewhere? Many thanks
  21. Hi, I am working with V5.1.1. I set up a GA account and pasted the code provided by GA into the GA input field in admin under feature settings. After waiting a couple of days for tracking to kick in, it hasn't. I've looked around the forum for answers to the problem but I cant find a direct fix for this issue. I contacted google support and asked them to have a look at my code and their response is as follows: I went through the Analytics Code on your website and I see that the code is different from the standard code. No data is reported in the account as the code is modified and isn't executing. There is also an old version snippet of code which is not required. My site which incidentally is a brand new site and hasn't had any code snippets added to it in the past - straight out of the box. I am not making any modifications to the code snippet generated by google just a direct cut and paste from google into cubecart admin browser to browser but something is getting messed up along the way. Can anyone throw some light on this? In the end I accessed the main.php file and added the code manually which works fine now and I have tracking but I would just like to be sure that I am tracking the whole site and not just the index page? I think this is probably the case as I think I am correct in saying that all pages use the main.php template? Thanks in advance
  22. Perfect! That is exactly what I wanted. Thanks for your perseverance.
  23. Thanks for the response, I think in my case having a mod for this would allow greater control over what is showing when someone lands on my homepage. I understand that the latest products functionality is designed to do exactly what its heading suggests but there are certainly scenarios where an item although the most recent addition to your store is not necessarily the item you most want to show on your store front if that makes sense. If there were some way of having an option to exclude any given item from appearing in the latest products that would be ideal. Many thanks
  24. Thanks for your reply. Apologies, you are absolutely right the original skin does not have the hard-coded tag parameter I mentioned earlier. I must have added this myself at some point while developing the skin. My error, thanks for clarifying. I have now achieved the results I was looking for and all is working as expected. Many thanks.
