  1. Hello Bkessler, Our solution was nothing special ... we just find out that the shop works in ALL browsers Linux, OSX and Windows, IE 8 works, IE 9 basket empty problem during checkout, IE 10 works sometimes and IE 11 works perfect again ... Also according to our website statics (we use clicky) we see MAJOR users use firefox, chrome or safari. IE is getting less and less and if we have IE users we see IE 10 or 11 so for us its not a big issue anymore. I think you should test your shop with IE 8, 9, 10 and 11 using virtualbox to see if you can recreate your situation and find the error. In the worse case you can hire a freelancer to mod your skin to fix this problem if its a major problem.
  2. Hello Dirty Buter, Ah well ... i will find a solution for it Thanks for the information. What i more meant is ... if we all have facts about security risks and we have solutions for it why not we can vote on permanent changes in Cubecart so every CC update will be better? For example: Cubecart doesn't allow 12345 phone numbers ... lets implement it and make it permanent?
  3. Hello Dirty Butter, I read the section and i think it should work. However this is not a good solution since you need to change the core files and after every update you need to do all changes again. Is there any other way to deal with this ? Any plugin or hook that can be made for this?
  4. Hello all, Did you also have recently a lot of spam or hack users that are filling up or messing up the DB with fake customers? See the customers from one of our webshop in admin and in phpmyadmin values.
  5. I think i ready a topic like this before and i also mad a reply on that. What is the skin you are using? Custom skin? Or a third party skin? Cubecart skin out of the box with some design changes? We had feedback from customers in the beginning using Galaxy skin checkout problems, because basket was empty during checkout. Accoring to our test it was all IE related ... but in IE 11 the problem seems to be gone for us.
  6. @havenswift hosting The answer is very simple: the search engine index your page or not ... if you use a free tool or buy an expensive tool ... this doesn't give you the guarantee that your site or pages will be indexed. Most of the third party tools are just ways to make money ... yes it is handy they provide the option to create sitemaps if you don't understand sitemaps or if you'r software doesn't provide sitemaps out of the box, but in this case (just like any shopping cart) if your admin provide sitemap out of the box, then buying a third party sitemap generator is wasting money.
  7. After a long road of analyzing and testing it seems my server could not handle that much traffic from ALL of my webshops based on Cubecart and Opencart running on the same VPS (i had running around 12 webshops in total) and Google was on our website very often since we have Domain Authority of 36. However Cubecart is working even better then Opencart! Since we run now a Dedicated server. Very happy with my new server New specs: Intel Xeon Quad Core, 2.5GHz (8 threads) 250 Mbps Uplink 4 GB High Performance RAM 1,000 GB RAID-1 Drives 15 TB Bandwidth 3 Dedicated IPs Now we migrated ALL our websites and webshops to it (over 38 domain names) and everything is fast and working. I really didn't know Cubecart can run this smooth compared with Opencart. Thanks for your feedback though.
  8. @havenswif-hosting The fact is if you run a shared hosting with lets say 1000 clients on the same box you have 1000 times more chance of downtime or being hacked. Also if the server get a failure all 1000 clients have a failure. This is something there is no discussion about. I am wondering if you sell shared hosting to Magento customers? That will be fun. However i appreciate your comments, but i am not waiting for hosting companies who claim they are better and i need to move. I chose my own webhoster and i have my own reasons for that. I just need help configuring my box the right way and of course even when it costs money it doesnt matter we also hire freelancers when its needed. I want to know if a dedicated box is better then VPS. We had a dedicated server before when running Opencart with 40.000 unique visitors a month, 20.000 products and downtime was 0. But that was another business and we sold it anyway. @Al, Yes it might be Cubecart i dont know ... how can we get in touch to have a look at it?
  9. It is recommended for large websites so it depends for each shop owner, but for us it is really needed thats why we bought the module from a third party, because we have over 10.000 products and we also run another webshop with over 300 categories and 8.000 products so for us it is needed and maybe other customers with a huge number of products or categories it is good to have it. Anyway i have the module and bought it, but i was thinking for future updates and other customers it might come in handy.
  10. Hello bsmither, I have everything running on the same box and i think the VPS configuration is OK ... but i need someone to confirm this. @havenswif-hosting Running a webshop on a shared hosting with an order per hour? That is not good specially you can not turn on cached options and if you allow that on your server and more clients do this your serer will be down also. Also shared hosting is not secure at all. I appreciate your concerns, but i am looking for help from administrators or someone who knows how to configure my box rather then moving to another hosting since the hardware is good and there is nothing wrong with my hosting. I am still looking for some answers how to fix this. If i move from VPS to Dedicated server will this solve my issues? If so, please tell me the requirements and how to setup the dedicated server. Thanks.
  11. Yes it can be, but in general a Sitemap is needed each webshop solution has it out of the box so why Cubecart doesn have it out of the box? It doesn't hurt to implement it. Customers get used to it just like search engines so why Cubecart doesn't have a Sitemap.html link with all links? It is good for indexing and ranking even if all your links are already cached in Google. I think they should implement it in the next future updates else Cubecart is behind its time since all other shopping carts provide it
  12. Hello All, Our webshop is getting bigger and our database is growing. However we also got a lot of spider/crawls traffic that causes our server outage yesterday. I talked with our hosting provider and they blame the developers or the system administrator of the serer. I am sure it is not the development, because Cubecart is a paid shopping cart solution with a lot of customers. Is anyone able to help me setting up the server in a correct way? PS: This is my hardware:VPS, 2.69 GHZ, RAM 1824 MB, Disk Space 80 GB, Bandwidth 1425 GB Helpdesk summary conversation: (9:00:13pm)helpdesk.:Hello! How can I help with this today? (9:25:04pm)helpdesk.:Hmm, I would highly suggest contacting a developer to assist you with optimizing the site's usage of CPU, masterunix. (9:27:00pm)helpdesk.:masterunix, it had just recently used up too much of the server's MySQL service. Which means that it is needed to be optimized to handle mysql queries better. (9:27:38pm)masterunix:any server upgrade will help? (9:28:11pm)helpdesk.:It will not help, however you can save money by simply optimizing the site. (9:29:40pm)helpdesk.:It would mean that it is worked on to handle services better, as right now, it's causing issues on MySQL. (9:29:57pm)masterunix:can you suggest what and how to optimize it? (9:33:17pm)helpdesk.:As mentioned, fixing up the MySQL configurations, as well as the site's handling of MySQL queries would be great.
  13. I prefer using the build in sitemap of Cubecart, because the shopping cart will understand the hierarchy better then an external tool. Even if Google Webmaster Tool doesn't show images being indexed it doesn't mean it is not cached in Google. Paid Sitemap generators are nothing more then a gimmick. From my experience as a webshop owner since 2008 we dont get better rankings or indexing with using expensive or great Sitemap tools. Cubecart has a great Sitemap generator and before Cubecart we had Opencart with a great build in generator from a third party.
  14. In general we need to be honest that ALL SEO experts will tell you a different story. And if you studied SEO by your self (using books even if its a for dummies book) SEO will change now and then. Techniques that work today can be different by next week. Thats the reason why we never work with permanent SEO companies or people. We always hire freelancers when its needed. I studied SEO myself and i am keeping up 2 date so i understand new techniques as well, but even i need experts sometimes. In your sutation we cant say i am wrong or your SEO guy is right ... SEO change everyday and "SEO experts" want cash. They make customers scared for being banned from Google, because they are the best company in the world and they know how to prevent this (if you pay them ofcourse). I would say stick with the basics and IF you are banned, then you hire a professional ... a professional can even fix banned websites within weeks (i played also with websites for SEO study and i never was banned longer then 1 week sometimes within 48 hours can be fixed). So lets go back to your story ... Cubecart is a very great webshop platform it works technically and functionally they worked it all out. We should not be afraid of mobile website, double content or any bans from Google. But if you follow SEO tricks ... yes you can make it better, but being banned for using Cubecart ? No that is really ridiculous. Correct me if i dont understand your story, but i think your first question on this topic was that your SEO expet spotted some theories about Cubecart that is not good for Google? We rank very great using Cubecart (Desktop and Mobile wise) and Google is not seeing our website as double content. Google understand Cubecart to index Desktop as Desktop and Mobile as Mobile. So yes subdomains like mobile.domain.com to use as mobile website work great and yes you need to add the canonical link in your desktop version.
  15. How about leave the ccnow module as it is, but make a small script to change the price in cubecart? like when the user is selecting ccnow as payment gateway cubecart on page automaticly add shipping price to total price and hide the shipping price. Then when the user is hitting checkout user come to ccnow page with total pricc which is (cubecart total price + shipping)
  16. How about make a script like this: if customer choose ccnow as payment option during checkout in cubecart then cubecart add shipping price to total price ?
  17. So it means we are not able to fix this and lose shipping cost for each order? Its crazy because we are not a local shop with stock. We do dropshipping and all items come from Asia to Europe which cost us around 25 Euro shipping price! Customers pay 9.95 Euro (then we still lose 10 Euro shipping) now we lose 20 Euro for each order! So this is technically not possible or is cubecart module not able to do it? That really suck.
  18. Hello, The module works and no errors, however we have the following problem. Cubecart is showing all the checkout prices fine including shipping price. When you go to the ccnow actual payment website it i smarked as FREE SHIPPING ??? So for each order we lose shipping costs. Why?
  19. Hello bsmither, I am not sure if i understand your question, but the useful thing about Sitemap is not really for the user (however the user can browse to each category and documents page, but also choose a letter from the alphabet to see all products by letter), but it is more build for search engines. Spiders will craw the Sitemap and it will read and follow all links found in the Sitemap. In this case your sitemap.xml should match with the sitemap.html and your indexing and ranking will increase. Without this sitemap mod my sitemap.xml was freezing since the day i use Cubecart (3 months roughly) in Webmaster Tool. Now 2 days later with the regular Sitemap added (mod that i bought) all my pages are now indexed and shown in Google webmaster tool. Sitemap is really needed for search engines and like northwalesinks says ... opencart as it also and i think other shops also like Magento or Prestashop. Its a must for each webshop (even websites!)
  20. I got customers complain about adding to basket when they are using Internet Explorer version 9, but i am not sure if its Cubecart or the Galaxy skin that i use.
  21. Hello Al, This is not the Sitemap i mean. The Sitemap you are refering to is a sitemap.xml that you need to feed to Search Engines. What i mean is a SItemap not Sitemaps. See example here: http://xrl.us/bp7qdi
  22. Hello, For SEO purposes it is nice to have a Sitemap in every webstore. Also other e-commerce platforms are providing this out of the box. I bought a Sitemap module from modindex, but i think this feature need to be inside of Cubecart. Might be an idea to create this and update in next release? With Sitemap i dont mean sitemaps that you feed to Google, but a sitemap to browse your website and for search engines to easy understand for following the links and it is sometimes good for indexing.
  23. Hello bsmither, Thank you for your answer! So in theory it is possible to have more then one language? I understand your theory and i know how to use phpmyadmin, but i am not really a database administrator so for me it is hard to manage this. I would like to havew a tool who can import this for me.
  24. I know you feeling after i used many shopping carts ... while updating you can lose settings and custom work. It is better to write every step of every change you made and think how you can fix it after a update messed it up. Most of the time i use cronjobs to eject codes into lines when i lose something or i manually change it. I also have a lot of custom work and when there is an update i enable my cronjob and wait for next update
