  1. Why wouldn't you want to know? Surely that would be like having a shop but not really knowing what is actually left on the shelves?
  2. I am talking about on the admin side (ie backend). If for example I have 6 products available with different stock levels available in each (for example, 3,5,4,6,2 & 0) then my total stock portfolio would be 20 but my total number of products would be 6. On the admin side you can see a total product level but not a total stock level which seems surprising seeing as the only mathematical calculation needed within the site would be to add up the stock numbers within all the products that actually contain stock omitting any with no stock. Is there really no where this is displayed at all on the admin side?
  3. Please can you explain how we can see our actual stock levels on the site. We can see the total number of products listed and within each listed product we can obviously see our stock levels but is there anywhere to see the total stocks at a glance rather than having to do the maths? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  4. I tried to upgrade from v5.2.14 to v5.2.16 but ended up with this message instead: "The following errors were detected: Failed to download latest version. Please attempt manual upgrade." Please can you clarify what I now need to do and also why the automatic upgrade did not work. Thanks
  5. Please can you explain how to hide out of stock (ie.already sold) products form the storefront. We tried ticking the 'Hide Out of stock' option but our website still shows the product but just says it is currently out of stock. We want to hide the unavailable products rather than remove them completely from the site. Is is possible to do this? Thanks
  6. OK Great - will try that with the next one. Thanks
  7. Please can you explain why orders that are created manually (through entering them on the admin side rather than the storefront side) do not show up on the transaction log page, the customer list page or also the statistics page. We have added the orders manually as a result of purchases being made by alternative means rather than directly through our cube cart site but we would still like to able to include them as a regular storefront type order for our records. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Thanks again for your help. Sorted!
  9. OK . Thanks for that - will try it and see. That worked! Thanks very much!
  10. We had the same problem for ages - double check you're API details again - we had misread a lower case L (l) for a capital i (I) !! As you can see they both look identical! Hope this helps.
  11. If an item is paid for by PayPal via email (on a one off for example) rather than processing through the site, is there any way of completing the order through the admin side of the site by manually adding the customer details etc. in order to have a record of the sale ? Please can anyone help on this one? Thanks
  12. Having finally got the website up and running, we are now experiencing a new problem: If someone puts an item in the basket with the intention of buying it, proceeds with the transaction but then cancels it at the PayPal stage, it is removed from the stock and not replaced when the purchase is cancelled. Please can someone explain why this is happening and what needs to be done to rectify the situation so that, if a purchase is cancelled at the final stage, it returns to the correct stock level. Thanks
  13. Hi, I have now tested the site using Sandbox, (both on Paypal & Cubecart) and it works fine. On reloading the Live API credentials supplied by Paypal however, we are still getting the same error code. Could something else be going on? I have also noticed that on the plugins Paypal input page there is now an extra option by the 'Express Button Checkout Action' - "Redirect to Paypal" which was not there before. Before I raised this error message issue the only option there was "Inline (Lightbox Overlay)". I was hoping that, as this action finally made sense, it might solve the problem but obviously not. We have also been given an App ID from Paypal but I cannot see anywhere this needs to be input on Cubecart. Is it needed and if so, where do I input it? Any opinions on this really frustrating problem would be gratefully accepted! Thanks.
  14. Not sure if anyone can help out there but each time we try and process a purchase on our website, the following error message comes up on the basket page upon checkout. The following errors were detected: Error: Security header is not valid Security error I notice there have been posts regarding this in the past but with no real answers. Please help if you can! Thanks

    Enabling SSL

When we got our API credentials from Paypal, we chose to use Paypal with a pre-integrated partner (i.e. Cubecart) and then option 2 which was to create our own APIs (applies to custom websites and online shops and pre integrated shopping carts running on our own server)? I cannot seem to find a config page within my Paypal account. I have a section which allows me to configure how my website communicates with Paypal in terms of API access I have double checked everything I can think of and did not copy and paste the API details but hand typed them in. I have also checked with Paypal and we are not using Sandbox. The upgraded business Paypal account is also now up and ready. Still getting the same message. Any clues?

    Enabling SSL

Hi again! Getting a bit frustrated now as I cannot seem to get the checkout part of our site working. We have upgraded our personal Paypal account to a business one and have input the API credentials. I have enabled the plugin version of Paypal and disabled the Gateway version and have not enabled the SSL (as we do not have this yet) and switched to Live rather than Sandbox. On trying to put something through as a purchase however, whether creating an account or by passing this bit, we get the following message coming up on the screen: The following errors were detected: Error: Security header is not valid Security error I had assumed that perhaps this message was coming up because we do not have the SSL in place yet but perhaps this is not the case. Let me know if I need to get the SSL to get it all working. Please can you help me work out where we are going wrong? Thanks
  17. If we go this route does that eliminate the need for SSL ?
  18. Is it possible to remove the option for customers to create accounts from the web site thus forcing them to only have the option to use paypal?

    Enabling SSL

Thanks for that but is an SSL actually a necessity and is it possible to get the checkout side of the site up and running without enabling SSL.? Especially as we have been told it will take 5 days to get one.

    Enabling SSL

Thanks for that. Just spoken to our hosting and we do not as yet have SSL. Do we need it for the whole site or just for the check out side?
  21. Each time I try and enable SSL under the store setting SSL tab by selecting 'yes' and hitting save it reverts back to 'No' for enabling SSL. Please can you explain what I might be doing wrong. Thanks

    Paypal

Please can you tell me if I need a business paypal account or if I can use cubecart with just my personal paypal account? On testing a purchase the error message 'invalid password' comes up when trying to login to paypal through the check out. Thanks
  23. Thank you so much! All sorted now and your help has been very much appreciated - it has saved me literally hours of trying figure out what I am doing as well as helped me to understand a tiny bit more of what is going on in the background!! Regards.
