Hi Brian, I haven't done any upgrades etc.
The thing where it doesn't restore stock (reduce stock on order pending) is only where a customer removes an item from their basket, this has been going on for years, it used to happen in CC4 aswell - but this is only when a customer is going through checkoutout but before paying, this isn't when a customer deletes an order or when an admin deletes it ( I never delete an order I mark them as cancelled so the stock does get returned).

Since way long ago from CC3 I've always used the reduce stock on order pending, my reasoning in that customers got pretty p'd off if when going to checkout they then found half their basket had then become out of stock.
I've had a couple of problems which have only started over the last week in where if a customer buys the last of a product, goes through and pays by Paypal commerce, on return to the store they are now presented with the message that the item has been removed from their basket as it's out of stock. Well yes because they have bought the last one.
From my customers:
Hi, as I was closing my order last night one of the items was removed from the basket because it was out of stock. To be honest I didn’t think the order had gone through but I have checked my card and full payment for the order has been taken. Please cancel my order if you don’t have all the items.Thanks, SaraHello,after making my order and paying the screen said one of the items had been removed as it was out of stock but I have been charged for the full order. If you do not have the item that was removed please cancel my order.MaureenThe other thing that CC has always done is if during checkout but before paying a customer decides to remove an item from their basket, that item is never returned to the stock levels. -
Had a good clear out of all caches etc and so far they now seem to be coming through ok.
TBH I haven't bothered to look at GA for such a long time, I know where most of my customer base is and what they are looking for and want so taylor my site for that.
I still ned to implement those changes to Cburst you sent me but still recovering from knee op.

Still having checkout problems and it's costing me sales.
Have had a lot of orders left in the pending state over the last few weeks, where customers are unable to pay, yet other orders are going through ok..
Customers are reporting on our FB:
"I can see the stamps online, I can put them in my basket but payment will not process and the screen just goes completely blank. If I go onto your site again, they are still there in the basket and the payment will not process again. Is there a problem with your end as I have purchased on other sites today? There is a little note which comes up saying waiting for region 1 google analytics"
"Having problems paying as went from your instagram link to your website and for some reason my basket doesn’t show up when I then go in to your website the usual way! The stuff is jumping out of my basket so hoping you can help"
"been trying to checkout on your website but it's not letting me, is there a problem as would like the stamps before they sell out. thanks"
"Tried to order three times now, but every time I try to go to the checkout page it says the website can't handle the request at this time!
Can you help, please"

I entered my full card details and didn't notice the button change colour.
I've managed to hide it for now, not really a solution but if it helps my customers checkout then so be it

Had a few customers who haven't been able to checkout, I only use Paypal commerce extention for payments on my store, during checkout customers see the screen below, if they enter their card details in the Pay By Card box then click the 'Make Payment' button, it does absolutely nothing. Tried it myself and nothing. I'm assuming it should take the customer to Paypal.
If you click the Paypal checkout logo or Pay later they both work as expected.
Any help, even if just to remove the Pay by card box.

Great to hear, still running on 6.4.5 and Php 7.4.33 and there's a lot of new features in later releases that would be really beneficial to my store.

I had this problem last month and Al sorted it out for me, maybe check to see if there is an update for the Paypal Commerce plugin.

Works great, really easy to use, has custom colour coding and you can also create email templates for any new order statuses if you want them.
I've set mine up to add: part shipped orders, international processing, international completed plus a few others.

I purchased Noodlemans Dashboard Widgets and Advanced Reports plugin and the info in the reports are well worth the plugin cost. To me it's a great plugin that is really easy to configure to find what sales info you might ever need from individual product sales to shipping costs.
He gives a 7 day trial so maybe worth downloading it and testing it out.

Can a whole category be deselected with this as well as individual products ? I keep a back catalogue category on my store where I have some of my designs from previous years that are not currently available to purchase as they will in time be redesigned and updated, also in the same back catalogue I have products from other manufacturers that due to Covid and sourcing issues are unavailable at present but will be back at a later date.

It's never asked me for my gender or DOB : I think it's just Paypals generic terminology, all it passes to Cubecart is the same info that gets passed to you when a customers purchases off you and pays via Paypal.
The skin is fab have a look at my store (I have adapted it a bit though), in fact I'm so happy with it my daughter is going to purchase it for her store too.

I've used cubecart for many many years - still have a V3 store and a couple of V4 stores both heavily modded.
I have tried a test install of V6 but the skins I downloaded from the marketplace don't work right (mainly the slider) on Kurouto and Mican. see http://www.craftracks.co.uk/shop/ this didn't bode well for me.
I don't know whether to go the V5 or V6 route but I have 2 V4 websites associated with my main business, one is for general customers and the other is for my trade customers, this has mods where prices are hidden until logged in but you need customer approval before being able to log in.

I don't want regular customers seeing what the trade buy our stock for.
I need to really update my sites now and get them in-line with our new website which is being written, so we can have a nice flow through where all the headers etc match and the stores will be in subs of our main domain.
I was so used to how V4 worked and changing the files etc and have had a peep at the V5 files but find them overwhelming. Google is going to start penalising me for having a non responsive website so upgrading is now a must.

No I purchased all my licences and copyright removals, been using CC for over 7 years one is still running on V3
which I really really need to move to a newer version but my main and trade ones will need bringing to my new responsive website which I'm writing up.I will try have a play with the V6 at the weekend as I've noticed a lot of your replies to questions are concerning what I'll be trying to do.
You'll probably be hearing more from me. LOL

Apologies as I know V4 is no longer supported but I'm moving my stores and need my keys for all my V4 stores - I had 5 (maybe more). I'm on V4.4.4 and they are heavily modded and I don't have time to use the newer opensource version and remod them all etc.
I tried logging in to my dashboard on cubecart.com but it no longer even recognises me and now asks me to log in with a paypal account ?????????
When we have time we will try out the newer versions but the V5/6 just don't quite do it for me .... Yet!

Version 6.5.1 is available but you are running 6.4.5. skin Cburst .
Customers were guest checkout - customers purchased several items but one of those items was the last in stock.
Reduce stock levels set to : Reduce stock on pending
Customer goes through checkout, pays via Paypal commerce and upon returning to the store is informed one of the items is now out of stock and has been removed from their basket, total shown is now less the removed item, even though they have just paid in full for the whole order.
Have sent you the rquest log from when one of them made their order.
