  1. Looks fine now on homepage, except for the latest products being in one column. The code given above is from earlier skin versions, there is a class added in later CC files that you need in there, here it is: .latestProds { float: left; text-align: center; width: 131px; height: 120px; }
  2. Can't tell from your description whether you are using the feature correctly or whether it is the software not working correctly. First, use the browse feature to find the image on your PC Second, use the upload button to begin uploading the picture Third, you must wait until the picture is finished uploading before closing any windows
  3. Refer to the pinned posts in the Skins & Templates forum section. There is a post pinned near the top of page named Skinning tricks
  4. Well, a simple search in this forum for the terms two rows brought this topic: http://www.cubecart.com/site/forums/index....20rows&st=0 Yes, I understand that none of the linkls work in that thread, here is a way you may be able to find a working download link . . . copy and paste into Google and search for these terms: Killer skin mod to display two rows of categories v1.0b For putting categories in side box in Killer skin, this has been covered many times and I have no time to search for youu or to explain this again. Be sure to read the pinned posts in this forum, you may even find the instructions in there.
  5. I agree with webicon personally, I think it works fine. Yes, there is a problem if "you have a mixture of images" as to sizes and shapes - but this is not a CubeCart problem, it is a store design/photography/raw image probem. Most stores will look best if you make your images consistent in shape and size. If you had GD enlarging smaller photos, the quality would tend to be awful.
  6. Well, this is incorrect. You may copy the entire database, including the config table, to a new server - then copy all the store files directly over to the new server. Then (and this is the key) you have to open ONE FILE: includes/global.inc.php and in that file you change the appropriate global settings for database location, db name, db username, db password and the store URL's (web path, global store URL and root relative path) , etc. That's it! Anything in the db config table that you want to change can be changed in your ACP under Store Config > General Settings
  7. Please try to refrain from double-posting. Your original posts in the skinning section were in the correct forum area for this . . . Sorry, not to be nit-picky, but cluttering the forum with multiple posts on the same issues will help NO ONE find what they need in future forum searches :)
  8. You should use a skin with categories in a sidebar. The problems are, 1. too many top-level categories, 2. category names are too long. If you want a very large number of top-level cats, and extremely long category names, you should choose or design a skin that is more fitting to the purpose. Additionally, you can search for Killer category tabs on two rows. About two years ago, a modder here offered a free solution for this and you will find it archived in the posts here or by searching the web starting at http://www.cubecart.org In my opinion, two rows of tabs won't look terribly great either if the category names are too long and you keep adding more. You may want to consider designing your own skin to fit your needs.
  9. About ftp, etc., http://www.cubecart.com/site/forums/index....showtopic=27445 About image sizes for stock logos, see this post (post is listed in pinned posts for this forum) that gives the image sizes for stock cubecart logo images http://www.cubecart.com/site/forums/index....ost&p=52764
  10. Well, either your store has been hijacked, or you are pulling a fast one over us here. I loaded both your links and saw the domain name ads in a frameset
  11. 1. Best practice is to use and ftp program, called an "FTP Client" FTP = File Transfer Protocol FTP Client = Generally user-friendly program you install on your PC that enables you to connect to a webserver and upload or download files from PC to server and vice-versa. There are many good free and paid FTP clients from which to choose, you can try WS-FTP from www.ipswitch.com or surely many others will have suggestions as well. 2. Another way is to use the "File Manager" program in your online web management panel. Usually, when you pay for webspace, you gain access to a web control panel for your space at the server. Also usually, the web control panel will have a built-in file manager somewhere that will enable you to transfer files to and from your PC and move them around on the server. Most Importantly While it is understood that you can't install CubeCart without some knowledge of how to do this, fact is, this is beyond the scope of CubeCart forum. For specific help about moving files up and down from your particular web server (which will apply to having any type of website, not just CubeCart), please contact your web host.
  12. Hi Lynn, A link to your site, and knowing which skin you ae using would be helpful. There are three CubeCart stock skins, Classic, Killer and Legend. You do not need to purchase a skin. You do need to learn a little bit about html and css, which is the simple language behind websites. I recommend this site for help with html and css: http://www.w3schools.com/
  13. Step one: as mentioned, change the name of that folder at your web server. You can use an ftp program, or a file manager program in your webhosting control panel to change the name. Step two: open the file, includes/global.inc.php, with a text editor and change each occurence of the word upload to the new word, webshop. Take care to leave any slashes or punctuation just as you find it in the file, and change only the word upload at each occurence.
  14. Good work, Will, looking very nice What I like most about it: You have so many gret ways of getting to the products from entry page! Love it! - Click slideshow, or sort by color or design, or choose from category menu, or choose a prod from latest prods, or use the quick links box at the bottom. I really, really love that navigation scheme, well done. I viewed a few pages, only saw two things I didn't really like. First, not enough margin on the left between border and category list, etc. I'm just a fan of space, and there doesn't seem to be quite enough there. Second, the product list on viewCat page. You have not styled that table at all. I find no fault with the default skin, but it just doesn't fit your customized site. IMO you would do well to customize the table for product list to further personalize the site. All in all, a job well done :)
  15. Points are well-taken guys, and I thank you for them Note about the hot air balloon banner - I know this will probably sound crazy, but here is what's happening there . . . First, I'm not the site owner, but the maker of this site. Second, Creating a set of banners goes beyond my goals, my criteria, in making the site, but I did develop it with a space for banner in mind and a way to manage the banners through the admin control panel. I included four banners with the site, but they are admittedly generic "dummy" banners - though nice, they are just placeholders. The presumption is that the site owner will have banners to his liking made and displayed there Thank you all for the comments, especially for this type of feedback, as the site owner is watching this thread My work on this site is done, but the site is not finished yet. Many products are being added daily. The owner may or may not add new banners to front page, time will tell. Any positive criticism like this is very helpful. I will tinker with remaking the purchase button for more clarity.
  16. No way to know what's happened, but a quess - the most likely explanation is that something went down at the webserver and your host restored the server with a backup made prior to adding your categories. You probably can't get them back. Again, this is just a wild guess.
  17. I had this same error on certain admin pages several months ago with one of my hosts; reported the prob to them and they made adjustments server side that cleared it right up. Funny thing about it - after they had made the tweaks that caused this error for me (something to do with the mod_security setup), their own perl helpdesk quit working - I got the same error trying to report the problem at their own helpdesk :)
  18. Might be better to post this in one of the third-party forums :P
  19. This is a skinning question, and if you look in the skinning section you'll see it was asked already today or yesterday . . . http://www.cubecart.com/site/forums/index....showtopic=24817
  20. Roman, I agree the site is nicely done and an interesting development I would make a suggestion, others have commented about the copyright situation - why not go ahead and license the cqart software and be done with the copyright language? It is a fair price for the script, the developer deserves the support, and the cart will look great. @ Stevie, come on man, you can figure this out This is not the same as the categories discussed at the other forum, these are three separate templates! global/index, global/cart and Digikey.php LOL B)
  21. No php code for pulling product images and displaying them is included in includes/boxes/popularProducts.inc.php and that is the php file that drives skins/xx/styleTemplates/boxes/popularProducts.tpl {VAL_IMG_SRC} therefore has no meaning in this .tpl file You need to figure out how to code the php file, or find a mod already written that does this. Someone made such a mod which is free, look for it in the cubecart.org forum archives
  22. http://www.cubecart.com/site/forums/index....showtopic=24679
  23. Hi, this is simple, but you must use {VAL_PRODUCT_ID}, not {PRODUCT_ID}
  24. skins/xx/styleTemplates/global/cart.tpl ~ This template that Stevie pointed you to is the global template for cart skins/xx/styleTemplates/content/cart.tpl ~ This template file contains most of the html used in all cart steps except for step1 and gateway skins/xx/styleTemplates/content/step1.tpl skins/xx/styleTemplates/content/gateway.tpl ~ These two have self-explanatory file names You will find the step four info in the content/cart.tpl file
