On another note, your code looks all wrong. It is invalid, because you have coded list items <li> without any opening or closing list tags <ul> or <ol> Your vistors browsers may show everything right, or may not . . . a browser will attempt to "insert the <ul> . . . </ul> tags, but your code would never validate.

If you are using late version CubeCart, then look in the skins directory for the stylesheets, example: skins/Classic/styleSheets/layout.css In the latest versions, at the end of that stylesheet is a class for latest products: .latestProds { float: left; text-align: center; width: 131px; height: 120px; } You can add a box by adding a border, for example, border: 1px #808080 solid; add spacing between the boxes by using a margin, for example, margin: 5px; add spacing within between the border ant the product name if desired by adding padding, padding: 3px; ------------------ If you want to use a fancy image for the border, you can set it as a background image in that division. And a third method is to go ahead and re-code your own html (new divisions, whatever you need) in styleTemplates/content/index.tpl

There's a handy little overview to help you along in this old thread. Mysty, the attributes would never be the same for all products, so this can't be hard-coded into viewProd.tpl. To help you understand, try to think of a store selling products that typically make use of such attributes - the fields are common to all products, but the data varies . . . Books . . . Records . . . Movies . . . etc.

Only you yourself are responsible for any damages done to your store by attempting modifications. These are not step-by-step instructions, but meant to be helpful hints. Backup your store files and database and proceed with caution! 1. Create New Database Fields The fields should be created in the CubeCart_inventory table of your db, also if you use more than one language in the store, create the same fields in CubeCart_inv_lang table. You may create the fields manually, using phpMyAdmin, or you can write a script to create the fields by using the upgrade.php scripts that come with CubeCart as a basis. 2. Edit admin/product/index.php First, edit it to record the data from your new fields, as it is coded to record data from existing fields, then edit the html section of the file to create the text boxes or other inputs where you input the data. 3. Edit includes/viewProd.inc.php First, edit the SQL query to pull the data from your new fields. Then, add some assignments, to assign this new data to tags that can be used like {THIS} in the .tpl skin template file. 4. Edit skins/xx/styleTemplates/content/viewProd.tpl to use the assignment codes and show your new data in the webpage. Optional To make the new data searchable, or to add it to the product list on the viewCat page, you will also need to edit includes/content/viewCat.inc.php, there are SQL queries there and code for the search strings as well as for the product lists. You might get more help if you post a link to your site. How could we possibly understand what you mean by "shrink the popular products box" when we can't see what the box looks like at your site? Are you showing 39 products in that box ? You write, "I have 39 popular products" In your ACP under Store Config > General Settings you will find a place to set how many products are shown there. I can answer this strightforward question: "are the products in the box supposed to rotate every now and then"? The answer is no, there is no "rotation" of products here. Here is how it works . . . In CubeCart, "Popular Products" means products that website visitors like to look at and read about, this is what makes them "popular" by CubeCart terms. They are determined by page views. The more often a particular product is viewed, the higher it's popularity score. The popularity score is a count of page loads that is kept in the database inventory table entry for the product.

On the shipping question I can't help, I'm more familiar with digital products than tangible ones. As to attributes, the answer is no for CubeCart 3.0.x, and I'm not sure if this will be in the upcoming 3.1 series . . . but modding CubeCart to have extra fields for products is relatively easy, and third-party mods exist for this as well.

Yes, open your language files, lang.inc.php for each language used at your store. The file for English language will be located at <your store directory>/language/en/lang.inc.php I recommend that open the file with a good text editor, but Notepad will do in a pinch. This is a very large file. This tool is available in the downloads section (see the download button above) straight from Devellion, and always has been (since CubeCart version 3.0.3). I also think there needs to be a pinned post about it, something that newbies cannot miss, like "Can't enter Admin due to SSL - FIX!" No one who experiences the problem ever knows about the tool, and it has to be posted again and again.

I like this site alot, very cleean design with fewer box borders, and easy to read with darkgreen and black on white. Here are some suggestions: 1. Subcat pictures are askew. Use a google search with this phrase: cubecart tutorials subcategory display fix 2. In the product list page (example: http://www.petradino.co.uk/minerals/l/cat_35.html ) you have the original stock blue color for alternate rows, and this doesn't look great with your design. I would suggest changing the color #EBEDFE into something like #EAFBD7 in your stylesheet(s) 3. While the view cart page works ok, it is only one column (FF2 browser) so it looks incongruent compared to the rest of the site, I would suggest keeping it two columns. Adding to incongruency of this page, an orange title bar in the table, gray rows whereas prod list rows use alternating colors 4. Your shopping cart box in header - you have retained the product listing in this box, but you have limited the height of that division and set the overflow to auto. Scrolling that area wasn't working great for me, but it does work. Another choiice you might consider would be to show only the number of items and the totals, and just leave the product list out. I guess it doesn't matter much. What does matter, is the links there were disappearing on rollover, I suppose the hover is set to white color or something, you should really change that.

A great job on the integration; likewise, great job on store layout, the product listing has originality and really nice, clean graphics.

I remember the post; it would be tough to forget this kind of code The problem is that you are using some Microsoft product, probably FrontPage, to create the content that you have pasted into the rich text editor, and the code is so lousy that you have all that space there. There are instructions about putting in a slideshow in this post by GARY. Note, there is mention of my own work on a slideshow in that thread, you need to ignore that because it is a mod that shows slides of products in the store. What you need to do is simply code in the show by hand, as Gary instructs, because your plan is to put in certain images and link to outside pages. This is not very difficult, search the web for javascript sideshows, find a script you would like to use, and follow the instructions for that script. If part of the script needs to go into head of document, per instructions, then paste that part into your skin's global/index.tpl file just below the line: <script language="javascript" src="js/jslibrary.js" type="text/javascript"></script> For the rest, follow the instructions that come with tyour slideshow script. You can create a box to put the slideshow in, like you did for the logo you mentuioned, and put the script code there in place of the code you used for logo image. Well, there are a great number of ways to do this . . . Yes, you could create db fields to hold everything, but why bother UNLESS you are going to do the complete mod and make it all configurable in admin? You can certainly very easily create a sidebox and add a single static image, and link it to anywhere on the web you like. This is very elementary html and you can figure out how to do this just by reading the pinned posts in this forum, or searching google for a free tutorial: manipulating boxes in CubeCart Another way would be to use a javascript slideshow there so you could but a whole list of images and links.
