The store I am setting up offers a blanket 20% discount off a retail pricelist. Each product has 3 or 4 additional options which affect the price - size, colour etc Using the blanket 'Update Prices by Category' is fine, but it only reduces the main price, not the price of the options. Therefore, I have to take the difference between the basic option and, say, the option for Blue - £3 - then manually deduct 20% and enter that price in the option. Apart from being a pain to set up, if/when the RRP prices go up I would have to manually work out all the product option prices again. Is there any way - or any mod - that the 'Update Prices by Category' setting could include all the product options for those items as well?

Running last version 3 of the store for months without problem. Nothing changed, but Paypal IPN system no longer working - it is not updating the orders from Pending to Processing. Nothing been changed within Paypal either. Any ideas - have Paypal changed the IPN system so that it no longer works with version 3?

SE friendly URL's won't work. Many forum posts say to upload the .htaccess file. There isn't an .htaccess file included in the zip of V4.2.1 I downloaded and can't find anywhere on the forum that says what should be listed in the file. Can someone point me in the direction of the missing file or tell me what should be in it? Thanks Doh! Just gone back to the store and refreshed the page and the .htaccess info has now appeared. I have to say that have noticed this version caches pages more readily than version 3. Have been changing the way the navigation is viewed by non-administrators and have to keep refreshing the pages to view the changes. I suppose my next task will be to add lots of refresh code to the pages!

Took a while to get my head around creating the local mysql table but working like a charm now - and this info will be very useful for other things now I can test other php sites offline! Many thanks for the info.

I want to completely change an existing store - is there any way to be able to test the new skin as I am building it rather than just having to keep living/unliving it through admin every time I want to check the progress/what it looks like?

I am on CubeCart v3.0.17 Protx module - set up ok but when seleted get the following error message from Protx site: 3045 : The Currency field is missing. Any ideas?

Webfusion updated their systems on 22 May : "Due to our on going commitment to our customers, myserverworld.net Linux servers have had their PHP versions upgraded from 5.0 to 5.2.1." Am still trying to get a sensible answer from webfusion as no-one knows anything about this particular issue. However, if the latest version of PHP doesn't have PEAR.php in it then this is a real problem for cubecart processing Paypal API payments when all other servers update. Someone at cubecart needs to look into this as well to provide a work around rather than passing the problem onto the server.

Hosted on Webfusion and installed Paypal Express - got it working ok. Now 2 weeks later getting the 'pear.php not found' error message. Nothing done to the store which would affect this and Webfusion in the dark. Lots of topics on this subject but no answers - tried downloading pear.php zip file from www.pear.php.net but just get 'corrupted zip file' message when I try. Anyone know anywhere else I can download the file from or an alternate solution.

I want to change the wording on the checkout for the Paypal Direct payment option. However, have searched all the gateway files and templates and language file but can't find out where it gets the value "Paypal Direct" Any idea where the gateway options are specified? ({VAL_GATEWAY_DESC})

Any idea when that is, as a problem with a site that has just gone live - or if not how/where we can get details from?

Is there are step by step document showing the actual changes available for this update rather than just the finished files as I have modified a couple of them. Thanks

Pipex have now come back and said they can't provide files as it is not their responsibility and would take too long to go through the server logs, but it is definately a php script from the site and no trojans etc have been uploaded. The only files on the server are the cubecart 3.0.14 ones - so is definately a problem with the cart. They say it can be in any of the files that send out mail - such as the order notifier, tell a friend or password reminders etc. I therefore need a list URGENTLY of all the php files within the system that can be used to send out mail so that they can be checked by a third party. Any help greatly appreciated - the site owner is going ballistic that his site has been disabled at his busiest time of year.

Have checked with host and they have said that the emails were generated from a CC script (not the tell a friend one though) Am waiting for them to send over the file information but as usual they needed an email back from me and by the time they received it they had gone home! So much for Pipex support.

I am using the latest version of cubecart (registered), and have just received the following message from my web hosts: Please advise as a matter of urgency ____________________________ Dear Customer Earlier today our system administrators noticed a large amount of spam mail being sent from your account tvshoppingoutlet.com Over 65,000 emails were being sent out this morning and as I'm sure you are aware we have a very strict policy on spam and incidents such as this can cause our servers to be blacklisted and in turn have an impact on other customers. It appears that this mail may have been sent through an exploit in one or more of the PHP scripts on your system. We would ask that you review the code on your website to remove any vulnerabilities that may allow the scripts to be abused to send emails. If the scripts are from a 3rd party software we would advise you contact the vendor for security patches or updates to their code. We have disabled the account so the spamming will stop and until such time you say in writing which scripts are insecure and what you will do to make sure this doesn't reoccur. Please contact us with the ticket number shown in the subject line of this email and we can re-activate the account so you can update the scripts.

The site is hosted by Pipex/Webfusion. My concern is that they do not seem to be logging in through the admin area with a password, so how else could they be changing the details in the Gateway area? They managed to disable Paypal, enable eGold with their details and add the by post option, asking for bank transfers to an asian bank. I just want a straight answer from someone on how they can still be getting in so I can fix it - rather than everyone blaming everyone else.

My client found out on Thursday that someone had hacked into his site and changed the recipient email for Paypal. Investigating I found that a new folder had been created in images/uploads/ and tojan files uploaded. I deleted the files, changed all the passwords and set the images and upload folders to 755. Today the hacker has been back and changed the payment processing to eGold. I have changed back, and deleted all the payment options other than Paypal. I've been onto Cubecart support who say to set permissions of the images folder to 644 - however, when I do the images are no longer shown on the website. The lowest permission that will work is 755. the hosting company say that the uploads script, which is used in the admin area to upload the photos, is the probably security leak and needs to be disabled as soon as possible. Can someone tell me where the files are for this feature and how I can remove them? As the hacker has got into this site very easily you should all be warned to check your own images/upload folder regularly.

I wasn't aware that there was a 250 limit on the logs. Would have been helpful to make this clear somewhere when installing - my customer has just been hacked and needless to say I just found out the log was full and therefore the statement at the top of the page about checking back regularly is a bit pointless if the limit isn't mentioned. Really need to either increase the 250 limit or have a rolling delete where id 251 would delete id 1.

My client, who I have installed Cubecart for, is adamant that getting an order confirmation as the customer leaves the store to go to Paypal is causing him too much work for him then to double check with the notifications coming back from Paypal. He only wants an email sending to him if payment is completed. Is it possible to, instead of having the store code update the database and send the order email before the customer clicks to go to Paypal, that the code could be transferred to the page returned by Paypal instead. ie. Store the order details in a temporary table, go to paypal, completed payment, then be returned to the store where the details are then processed and the admin emailed. Anyone able to do this modification for payment?

Has anyone worked out (or is it possible) to pass the item ordered details through to Paypal rather than just the order number and final value? The paypal orders are processed by different people than those who manage the store and would be better if the full order details came through with the paypal verification rather than trying to tie up with the CC verification, especially if a lot of people don't complete. Any help much appreciated.

I agree about animated stuff, as it annoys me as well, but these were just so cute! Thanks for the comments from all three of you - I'm just working on a couple of more sites at the moment and the Sunlabs and TV Shopping one are both finished as per the client - but I will definately take on board the suggestions for my own one.

I was having the same problem about the 'buy' and 'add to basket' option not working - ie nothing happening when they were selected. However, if I deleted the product and re-entered they started working! The Buy button will only work on it's own if the item does not have any 'options' to choose from - if it does it goes to the item page. However, if the option is hidden, when you get to the page you can't select the option from there either so the 'add to basket' button won't work, as it is expecting an option value. I have recoded some pages so that the product options appear at the bottom of the add/view product page rather than in a seperate page - easier to add the options this way at the same time as creating the item. The javascript should have been set to ->() if no options, however when saving it sometimes added a value on it's own: ->(0.00) This gave the item an option, but it was hidden, so neither button would work. Therefore, check your mysql database directly, in the _options_bot table and look for any 'blank' options and remove. This is where there is a 0 in both the value_id and option_*** fields. Hope this helps at least some people! If it doesn't, well I'm only female so what would I know!
