  1. Question: How do I create a discount voucher in CC 6.1? I can find gift certificates (effectively a deposit) but not discount coupons. The two are quite distinct from an accounting and tax point of view and not interchangeable. Question answered: Moments after I posted this, of course, I found them under Promotional Codes, mysteriously filed under Inventory. Which is where Coupons were listed in olden times too. So I have no excuse. Background: My current quaint version 4.3.4 store allows me to issue a discount voucher for $10 or 10% depending on whim and the amount of customer dissatisfaction that I am trying to mitigate. I use it in the unfortunate case when the shipping calculator cooks up a number that is embarrassingly different to the stamps on the box. I don't feel the need to issue a refund (after all, they thought the shipping was acceptable when they placed the order) but the discount voucher adds some goodwill and may well initiate another order. This is clearly not a gift certificate - it is, in this case, a credit.
  2. Hi, My apologies in advance for this - I have almost certainly done something (or not done something) that is causing this problem, but I have not been able to solve it on my own. I have a CC 434 store which I am planning to update to version 6 once I figure out how to get it to do what I want. I have downloaded the 6.1 installer onto a test system. The installer creates a database with a single product. I created myself as a customer and that worked nicely. Now I am trying to create an order in the admin console to sell myself a test product. I cannot get CC to save the order. I feel as dumb as a box of hammers for having to ask this question, but I have messed about with it for hours and I am flummoxed. I have defined a single tax for Australia at 10%. The order builder is not calculating tax automatically, but then it does not do it in 4.3.4 either, so I am not sure that is a problem. (It is nice that it now calculates the total all by itself.) The primary indicator of trouble (aside from the order not being saved) is that the inventory item line has gone red (ish). I changed the inventory for the test product to have 100 items in stock. Problem persists. Please put me out of my misery and explain what I have done wrong (or, more likely, not done.) Otherwise I will have to spend tomorrow reading code... Thanks for your help. Russ

  5. When I hit the Checkout button from my CubeCart's confirmation screen, I am taken to a gateway page that is completely blank. There is nothing in the Admin's error log nor Transaction Log. However, it does show up as a pending order in Customers > Orders. Not only do I receive a blank Gateway screen, I get no confirmation emails, even though the SMTP email test works fine. What am I missing?

  7. I'm new to Cubecart (brilliant product by the way!) and have the silliest question to ask ... Why don't my product prices show in the Store? No matter what I do I cannot seem to get a price to appear - unless you call 0.00 a price? "Use Stock Levels" is Unticked. "Allow out of Stock purchases" IS ticked. What am I missing?? ;-( BRYAN
  8. I have been working on a new installation of cubecart v6 and I have not been able to make the product options run correctly. I need assistance. The email templates show correctly based on all the feedback I have seen on the forums, however the product options are not all shown on the emails or on the admin site. the only place they look right is on the individual order page under Inventory. The problem is that only the last option shows up in the emails, or on the admin page, none of the prior options show right. I currently have three options setup, with two different option groups.   9. Hi, I have done some searching and can't find a suitable answer to the question of whether CubeCart can handle recurring payments. I know that Paypal has the facility so wondered whether this could be integrated? Or would another payment gateway be more suitable? The business is UK based. My client wants customers to be able to create a customised gift hamper, similar to http://www.mycavebox.com/ in concept but with different products etc. The idea is that they could sign up for a regular delivery of their chosen items. Any help or advice will be much appreciated. T
  10. Hi, I am using CC 6 > customers are having trouble registering their address. Address field is asking for 'County' not 'States' which is what is needed for Australia. I need address field to display 'States' I have checked that CC language is set a US English. Any help / fixes most welcome! Thanks
  11. Hello, I installed Cubecart 6 and I believe I set everything up correctly. The store URL is http://theflyingkolache.com/cube. When I enter “theflyingkolache.com”, the page that comes up is the “Directory Listing” showing the folder named “cube”. When I do a Redirect to http://theflyingkolache.com/cube, I get the following page; “This page isn’t working” “theflyingkolache.com redirected you too many times.” “Try clearing your cookies.” “ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS” I have racked my brain for 3 days on this. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. So the last version of my website was all hand-coded - back in the mid 2000's... It was a PHP/MySQL Database driven site and worked fairly well, but it had aged... wasn't "modern" enough anymore... So I did alot of research, and testing multiple different cart systems - and landed on Cube Cart. It seemed to do, or have extensions to do most of what I wanted - and it was easy enough to modify for the rest - -so I started working;. The site has been live for a little over a month now - and is getting some results. It started with a basic skin, but with some google searching, some help from forum users, and a lot of trial and error, I think I am finally happy with the current state!   13. I am setting up new zones in the All in One Shipping module so I can use zip codes. Example: Zone 2 (This is the name I gave in AIOS) is for the states kentucky and indiana. I just now created a Zone 2 Zips to show the zip codes for Zone 2 based on the UPS zone chart (for zip codes). I have the “Use first matching zone only” set in the AIOS module, but it is still giving me rates for both zones. I need it to show the rates for the zip code. If zip code is not available then go to the state zone. Here is the AIOS debug info: - Postcode range search: 42100 - 42799 (MATCHED!) >>> Shipping zone [ID 46] matches the delivery address! Use this zone for shipping calculations. Looking for first matching zone of best match (instead of searching for all matching zones - see AIOS module settings) Zone 2 [Zone ID 1] --- Country matched and state/province matched!   14. Hi, I have multiple formats of the same digital document viz. pdf, mobi and kindle. How can I give the user an option to download a format of his choice from the same location? I do not want to upload each format separately as an independent item. The user should be able to select the option (pdf or mobi or kindle) and appropriate link will be sent to him. He need not search separately for a different format.
  15. Hi Cubecart community! I just upgraded my website to have an SSL secure certificate. However, this seems to break Cubecart. Well maybe not exactly break it, but it isn't secure. The shopping cart still works fine in an un-secure mode: http://fitpacking.com/cubecart/index.php, as it bypasses SSL. But when I get to the checkout screen, I see this "not secure" browser window: I have tried to force the issue using https://fitpacking.com/cubecart/index.php but this somehow ruins the markup or breaks the Javascript or something. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the SSL certificate working with Cubecart? Thanks, Steve
  16. Hi, I keep receiving: "The following errors were detected: We seem to have a problem with your address ("Billing Address"). Please check the value for "County" before proceeding." I'm using All In One Shipping extension, it seems to be set up correctly because it gives the right shipping options in accordance with the address - and there seems to be no problem with the address format. However, when trying to finish the transaction, the above error appears. I have no idea which element of the store triggers the error - is it the payment module, or anything else? I'm UK based, the shop language is English UK. Thanks in advance for your help.

  18. Hello, I'm new to cubecart and am finding it difficult to work my way around it a little. I've installed it in my control panel and tried to work out what I'm doing wrong. My web address shows up with cube at the end. I've installed it in the public_ html Can anyone please advice what I'm doing wrong? Thank you
  19. Hi, Today I noticed a prob while I was filling an order. The problem is coordinating the order invoice produced by Cube cart with Paypal. CC calculates the invoice total price with product price plus a USPS calculated shipping per weight and by destination. This is good. Then the PayPal Braintree module takes that total price of product plus shipping and adds another shipping charge for a different total price. For example; In one order I am looking at, a $22.95 product creates a $16.82 shipping cost in CC plus a PayPal shipping charge of $7.95 for a grand total shipping charge of $24.77 I did not see anything in the PayPal Module itself, so I suspect that it has to do with the actual PayPal account itself. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight into this particular situation because the forums here have really proven themselves useful. Thanks.

As the title says, my storefront is closed and when I try to access it from the link on the admin control panel I just get the store closed dialog, with an error message above it:- Warning: filesize(): stat failed for /var/sites/s/shop.mysite.co.uk/public_html/cache/88711.sql.empties.cache in /var/sites/s/shop.mysite.co.uk/public_html/classes/cache/file.class.php on line 168. It was fine this morning, and the store is fine when not offline. I don't know if it is connected, but I get 5 identical error messages on the Maintenance page, but the page still loads below the messages. Message is:- Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/sites/s/shop.mysite.co.uk/public_html/admin_XXxxXx/sources/maintenance.index.inc.php on line 850 Any ideas?
  21. I received an order today and this showed in admin order summary. Under Order Summary the customers name looked like this. I wouldn’t think they would type it in like that. Of course they used their real name I just changed it for security. Note the "> Customer Name"> Company (this was blank)"> Street address"> Hiram, Ohio 44234 I’ve checked files but don’t see any bad code. Any specific ideas where to look? Also turns out their email does not exist and was returned. The payment with PayPal went thru without a hitch. Should I worry – not a large order.
  22. Hi, I just intstalled the USPS shipping module and noticed it is only offering retail rates. Is there anyway to change this so it will only offer the commercial based rates. Also where is the rate option for Parcel Select? Also how do you get it to give the correct rates on an oversized package? Thanks in advance! Claudia
  23. I was just wondering if there is anything 'built in" to cubecart which detects if user-agent is a mobile (ie. tablet, phone, etc.. ). I can do that my self but that would be pointless if its already present. Many Thanks, Chris Coleman.
  24. Hi, I recently upgraded a store (6.1.11 to 6.1.13) which is now using PHP Version 7.0.26, it is running well, taking orders and nothing bad showing in the logs. But I recently looked in the 'database maintenance' section and see the following for many of the tables, any ideas - Thanks in Advance - Chris.
  25. Hi, Just hoping that someone will have a brilliant idea to resolve my current issue. In the past, ie with V4, with phone orders of customers who did not have an email address or refuse to give their email address, we would still manage to process the order and I would just add "noemail" in the email address box. Now with V6, the system stops me from entering any customer data with no proper email address. Al tells me there is no way around this but it is becoming a problem: 1. V6 forces me to enter a new email address every time. If I use the same one, it recognises it and stops me from entering the customer data thinking it belongs to another customer. So I started creating false email address like "[email protected]" John Smith being the customer for instance. 2. the 2nd problem is that my email system keeps trying to send the order status update messages to this address but keeps bouncing of course so I am getting a little annoyed to get reminders after reminders until it actually stops after 48 hours. 3. I personally do not think it is a good practice to have to create "false customer data" to work around the ecommerce platform limitations especially with the forthcoming EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into from 25 May 2018. Anyway, if someone has a grand solution for me to go around this issue, please let me know. Many thanks S.
