No confirmation / status change emails from store

Hi,

I've got the latest upgrade of 3.0.7. Normally when I test the cart, I get an order confirmation. It's just stopped happening and I can't figure out why...don't know what I've changed.

Also, confirmations do not go out when the order status is changed.

I configured Paypal but have disabled it. I added a custom ship mod...that's it.

My correct email address is in the admin section.

I have this on yes: Allow dispatch to address other than invoice address?

I'm not sure what else to check???

I am setting up two carts and the only adjustments were the addition/configuration of Paypal and 2CO, and a custom shipping mod.

Both are the latest 3.0.7.

In cart #1, I only get an email the first time an order goes through the cart. The customer does not get an order confirmation email or any emails for status changes.

Also, any subsequent order placed on the same day (under the same ISP I'm guessing) and even under another customer account, rewrites the original order...so it's completely lost.

On cart #2...no order emails whatsover.

Please, anyone...what pages should I check?

This last cart is my 4th (clean) install. I've added and deleted so many products I cannot even think about it!

I'm still having this problem. I am not getting an email (as admin) when an order is placed. But I was until this afternoon. In fact I installed 3.0.8 fresh and after every change I did test orders. It was working before I made a couple line changes to language/en/lang.inc.php

but I've reinstalled the original lang.inc.php, set permissions, checkd the www in thee global file, cleared my cache, tried another browser, cleared all previous test orders and registered under new customer.

PLease can anyone help....I was sooo close. I am losing my mind.

No I didn't figure it out, so I am using mail() at the moment. Mail() seems to work fine but it's not recommended (not sure why). I'm told that the problem is with my host. They support smtp but I wasn't getting very far with email support, so one day I will call them.

There are a few ways to incorrectly set-up smtp, so hopefully it will be an easier troubleshoot for you.
