Shipping totals when viewing basket

currently when a customer is viewing their basket, it says "N/A" in the shipping section.

It doesnt calculate their postage until they are at the next stage, which i believe is causing me to lose customers.

Is itpossible to show the shipping rates when viewing the basket?

I would like to know the fix to this also,Noodleman! The only way I got it to show a shipping amount is enabling the "By Price" shipping module. But when the customer checks out, the shipping price is in a drop down box. It's very weird. I only want to use the "Flat Rate" shipping method. There has to be someone in this great CC community that has a FIX for this! Pretty please?? :)
