I've been trying to sort out the SSL issue with the site and it's been driving me up the wall. I think I have everything configured right but when I enable the SSL in general settings everything goes to poop.

Oh a very quick warning my friends site sells sexy clothing and uniforms/playwear for men and women (he just added some male stuff) so if you are VERY easily offended or a bit of a prude you might want to avoid this site.

OK here's my config:

Site: www.intimate-online.com

Shop: http://intimate-online.com/intimate/shop2/

Secure Shop: https://intimate-online.com/intimate/shop2/ (everything looks like it works fine, until enabled)

SSL Settings from General Settings:

Root SECURE HTML Folder: /shop2/

Absolute Secure URL to Store: https://intimate-onlinecom.secure.powweb.com

Secure Server Root Directory: /www/d/a/darkheartgames.co.uk/htdocs/intimate/shop2

Now all these settings seem right and tally with the info from my ISP.

Everything looks like it should work.

But when I enable the SSL thing in general settings my site is totally inaccessable.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Darkheart

Your problem is that SSL domain and regular domain are not the same which is exactly like the case of shared ssl sonfigs.

CC cannot work with this setup.

Or at least, I haven't found any solution to it.

Ask your host to make your SSL the same as your domain and replace your certificate.

To access your store again, please download Config Tool from CC download section and FTP it to your host.

Then access it in your browser and set SSL Enabled to 0.

Then erase the Tool.

Now you can access your store again and make some time to inquire Powweb on how you can enable DEDICATED ssl and NOT SHARED. That will involve purchasing ssl cert and that costs between 30$-200$ per year. Depends on the company you buy from. Do some research first.

Wildcard SSL Certificate for multiple sub-domains runs around $199 a year. This will take care of the subdomain issue and all others in the same section.

I actually have my admin and storecart with ssl working for me other than my shopping cart shows empty when an item is added and i go to checkout. and I use Powweb.
