Email validation against email servers... Complete

Hi All,

In reference to a previous post just a little while ago about email validation, I have include an easy to install patch with 2 additional php files that allow email addesses to be validated in real time. This not only makes sure that the email addresses are correct and working, it also provides various other types of error checking..

If you want to try it live, just visit http://www.kickinpc.com then add a product to the cart, start the checkout process by clicking new customer and input whatever you want for the email account, and then finally, use a real one.. Then you can just close the browser..

Hi, tried the script and got:

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to mnemosyne.test.com:25 in /home/kickinpc/public_html/validate_email.php on line 300

This sort of thing will loose you sales.

I didn't catch this reply..

There are some configurations that you can change in the files.. Like your hostname to start.. I only tested the script on my server so I have no clue if it works out of the box on FreeBSD, Slackware or anything else.. I only code on linux so I doubt none of my mods work on windows either..

Also, In regards to mnemosyne.test.com, It's bogus.. So how will that cause you to loose sales? You didn't give enough info or describe how you got that error. So how would I know that it's an error? Only thing it shows me is that you didn't try a real email addy.
