changing server problem???

ok i am hoping someone might be able to assist me with a problem. recently my isp was bought out by a larger company. when this happened they forgot to inform me that i would need to change my ssl information because they no longer offered shared ssl hosting. not a big problem. i purchased a certificate and set it all up. NOW.. the problem i have is that my site is now on a non shared ip server ( which is probably better anyways ) but all the settings in cubecart are from the old settings. while the normal non-ssl version of the site still works, the secure part does not. it looks like it is trying to go to the old server and not finding anything. instead of seeing my domain name ( for instance https://www.mydomain.com ) i see a string of stuff ( for instance https://www.mydomain.com.server1.myisp.net ).

i went through the server info in the cubecart menu and it looks like it is all the old information. while the primary domain name is still the same, i think the location has changed.

do i have to manually go though the settings and change everything? can i run the set up again or will that erase all my databases and stuff?

any input would be greatly appreciated.

If the location has changed you should be able to make those changes in the admin area.

can i run the set up again

Yes you can

or will that erase all my databases and stuff?

Yes, No, Maybe so. In evaluation of CC I practiced disaster recovery. When installing step 3 has checkbox labeled "drop tables". It is checked by default and will overwrite the database. It did mine with errors which essentially trashed it. I restored my database and everything worked. After a couple practice sessions I was able to reinstall CC in a directory of my choice, restore the database and have all working well and I lost nothing. I never tried reinstalling with the checkbox unchecked. Maybe someone else in the forum has

I can't say this emphatically enough. BACKUP YOUR DATA... DATABASE AND ALL THE FILES...BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY CHANGES. You invite disaster if you don't. This advise is echoed throughout this forum.

Develop a testing environment on your local machine and practice disaster recovery. It not a matter IF something will screw up, its a matter of WHEN.

what are your ssl settings in your admin control panel and what is your url.

ok... i manually editted some of the server files and got the ssl working to a point. you can view the normal site fine ( normal being http://www.mysite.com ) and you can add stuff to the cart and view the basket ( which then goes into https://www.mysite.com mode ) BUT if you click on the continue shopping button, you get http://www.mysite.com/store/store/index.php? . it is now giving me /store/store. why is this? anyone?

my sll settings are:

Root SECURE public HTML Folder to store: /

Absolute SECURE URL to store: https://www.mysite.com/store
