Guest flyerguy
I am curious if you set your store up as: www.mydomain.com/store/ and not in the root as: www.mydomain.com How do you point to your store in www.mydomain.com/store/ if someone just hits www.mydomain.com Perhaps I am missing something simple and really appreciate the help. Guest
Besides having a good old-fashioned link from your home page, you could also do a redirect on the server level or use a .htaccess file. I'm sure there are other ways, too, but it's too early to think. Why did you choose not to install in the root directory?
Guest Cellular Amps LLC
The other option is to create a html front page, with a link to your store... I am sure you have been on several sites that have a front page, then a link to either a store or catalog or similar.
roban
A simple way of doing this is with a meta redirect. Put this code between the head tags of your index.tpl: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://www.yourdomain.com" /> http://www.yourdomain.com is replaced with the url to be directed to and the content= number is the number of seconds to wait before the redirect. In this case set to '0' for immediate redirect.

This simple little bit of redirect code works a treat, many thanks.
Guest victoria16
I too am having the same problem. If i move the contents of the store folder to my root directory i can acces my site ok but i can not make any updates to my site. I am new to this having only just uploaded the files in the last couple of days so i am just feeling my way into it. I see that austins came up with a solution but i am not sure where to look for the index.tpl: file and how to modify it. Would appreciate some help if possible. Guest victoria16
Ok i have sorted it the easy way and rang my web host and they talked me through how to do it. All i had to do was point my domain to my store folder. Easy peasy. :)
