Licence Key - Error 10

I thought it would be similar to error 4. But I can't find a key.php anywhere and I have double checked the key entered into the global.inc.php??

I have also tried the suggestions that stated with the error but with no luck.

Error reads:

License key error 10. key.php file doesn't exist and server was unable to write it. Please make your stores root folder writable temporarily and then change file permission back afterwards. Please visit http://www.cubecart.com for support.

Things I have tried are:

1. Chmod to 777 shop root check for key.php(not found even after a refresh a few times), did not resolve.

2. Made a blank key.php file in the shop root and chmod to 777 and still no fix but a bit further forward to a forbiden screen (error 403)

Any other suggestions???

key.php is created on setup and has to be deleted.

After awhile of trying things I could not get the key.php to create. I chmod the store root 777 with no luck a few times.

I tried once more this morning and it worked

I have no idea why it didn't work before as I tried chmoding it to 777 a few times.

Anyway on to my next problem now...

Admin won't save any settings, it just locks up?!

Some servers can't write the file without help. You'll need to make the stores root folder writable. It will then write the file. After it has done so change it back to the file permission it was before and all should be fine and dandy.
