Software License Key Errors

Quick question with regards to this key thing (I'm not a techie) - Sorry if this should be new question - please move if this is the case.

Does this mean that my site goes off and connects to your server to check the key everytime the site is accessed and if so, do you have adequate backup to ensure this service is uninterrupted?

I guess what i'm asking is, if your server is busy/unavailable - does this/could this stop me accessing my store either front or back end?

I'm sure graphic designers will remember the day a well known Vector graphics company went under... when their server stopped working so did every issue of that companies software...

I'm getting license key error 8... 'payment was revoked as being fraudulent.' which doesnt make sense as i am using the free trial (and i'm still within the 14 days).

i have however paid for the full license now (just didnt get round to changing the license key). But now i can't change the key as i can't access admin due to this error.

is there anyway i can change the license key without getting into admin?

EDIT: Also, i'm currently testing/skinning v4 on a subdomain. So when i move the store to my main domain will i be able to get the key reset?

The software license key may show this error if you have moved your store to a new server or hosting account or if you have changed the domain name. Sometimes hosting companies may move your account to a new server without your knowledge which in turn creates this license error.

It is possible to correct this your self. Please login to your customer control panel at http://www.cubecart.com. Viewing your dashboard you should see your "Software License(s)" listed down the page. Please locate the one in question and click "view full details". On the following page you should see instructions about how you can "Unlock" the software license key so that it can lock to your new server name and IP address.

Please note that after the "Unlock" link has been clicked you may need to delete the existing includes/extra/key.php file.

I have just experienced an error No5.

I believe that it is because I was a beta tester and although I deleted off all the software from the server my domain comes up as having an expired license key.

I really want to re evaluate the new version before I buy but you have to submit a ticket (which I have done) and wait.

Well I only have today to commit so I hope that they can respond.

I had the License key error 6 error and I've now unlocked it so the in my cpanel it reads.

License restrictions:

Host: Any

IP Address: Any

What do I do next. the same error still shows when I go to admin.

Sorted it by deleting includes/extra/key.php

Sorted it by deleting includes/extra/key.php

If I remember correctly, I went to includes/extra and deleted key.php. I'm not sure if that was enough or if I also had rerun setup.

Please Help. I want to upgrade to version 4 but i keep on getting this message when clicking upgrade.

FYI: I had made some mistake on my first upgrade, so i delete everything & retrieve my backup for a fresh upgrade. But now encounter the above problems. I need to make sure i can UPGRADE, then i only interested to buy the Full License.

I'm having the same issues with License error #4. We successfully upgraded from 3.x.x to this or so we thought, but with the demo key and deleting the /includes/extra/key.php we still get the message License Key error 4?

Now what??

Unlock your key from your customer control panel. Then delete the includes/extra/key.php file. If you have problems please submit a sales ticket with FTP access and we can do it for you.

error 12 never goes away after i upgraded tp 4.2.2 unloked the key and relocked it. updated the two files in binary nothing seems to work. communication to cubcart server is working

i even deleted the key but it never returns when i try to refresh to admin

it was working fine with the old 4.2.1.

Hi I had teh error 8 due to the license server issue.

Download the files and uploaded to the server.

Problem is I now get ...

The file store/admin_enc_ion.php was encoded with the PHP 5 ionCube Encoder, and requires PHP 5 to be installed.

Funy thing is I have PHP 5.2.5 so whats the problem?

I cannot get a store to run on localhost. I keep getting the error

Software License Error #4

License key does not match key string in includes/extra/key.php file.

What license do I use on the offline testing store? I've tried the license from my active store, but that does not work.

Is there something I missed in setting up? Something I need to do in global.inc.php?

The host in global.inc.php is

$glob['storeURL'] = 'http://localhost/store';

I want to be able to test mods and the upgrade before going live with them.

The host in global.inc.php is

$glob['storeURL'] = 'http://localhost/store';

Your host in global.inc.php needs to be set to the one set to the Registration Key. This can be found by logging into your CubeCart Dashboard. Once that has been corrected, you should be able to also access it via http://localhost/store. If you have SSL enabled, this will default to the hostname linked to your Registration Key.
