Guest holney Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Hi All My 'tell a friend' emails do not get through if the sender enters a gmail or hotmail address. They appear to go through on the site but I don't receive them. If I enter an email address attached to my domain name, they work fine, e.g. Sender: [email protected] - DOESN'T WORK Sender: [email protected] - DOES WORK My site is here: http://precisionwatches.eu/ You'll see I've modified the tell a friend template ever so slightly to automatically populate the recipient name and email. Hosting is GoDaddy if that is relevant. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

convict Posted March 6, 2009 Share Posted March 6, 2009 Try this small hack: File includes/content/tellafriend.inc.php ADD $mail->headers[] = 'Reply-To: '.$_POST['senderEmail']; $mail->headers[] = 'Return-Path: ' . $config['masterEmail']; BEFORE THIS $mail->send(array($_POST['recipEmail']), $config['mailMethod']); Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest holney Posted March 10, 2009 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Hi Many thanks for your reply. I tried this but unfortunately, emails from gmail and hotmail still aren't getting through. Any other thoughts? Many thanks :-) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
convict Posted March 11, 2009 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Only help is to send an email from the site email address becasue your site does not support OUT OF HOME email address as sender one some hosts are applying this as security measurement.
