Pagination Format Skinning Change

I posted this in skinning/templates, but have a feeling that it's in the php, so I'm posting it redundantly, which is probably a no no, and I apologize if that is the case.

So I'd like to change the way pagination is displayed. I've done some searching and found some stuff relevant to CC3, but I think I'll need some help with this as I'm in CC4. Currently the pagination looks something like this:

2pages [1] 2 >

I would like to make it appear more like:

page 1 2

and not limit the amount of page numbers shown.

Check over at cubecartforums.org. I remember posting some instructions a while back. I have asked the developers to consider making the change in V4. However, it doesn't look like this will be done before CubeCart V5 is released. Unfortunately, until this is done, there will not be complete separation of PHP and HTML (contrary to CubeCart's claim).
