Guest gibby
HI we keep getting a strange issue where the customer can not log into the account despite it working perfectly before Even if we go in the admin & change the password the account is still not accessible & passwords will just not work The only way we can get a round this is to delete the account & start again, losing past orders. It happens to about 1 or 2 customers a month that we know of has anyone else had this issue? G

G Not seen this before - but be aware that there are security features built-into the log in to stop brute-forcing it. After about 4 attempts, they will get "Authentication blocked for 10 minutes for security reasons." (or similar) Try to find out what error messages they see - perhaps they have forgotten their password? - you can re-set this in admin>view customers>edit Jason

I have created 3 users to test with - 2 of them can not login after logout, one of them can for who knows what reason. Strangeness
Robsta
Remove 'MSN' and 'Google' from the spiders.txt, or just rename spiders.txt. That might fix it. Although you've not said what actually happens when your customers try to log in, or which browsers they are using. A url would be helpful. Guest gibby
HI it just says "login failed" 99.9% of customers are OK but every week we get about 1 customer who just can't login in. At least we only get notified of about 1 per week. We go through the usual process of chaging the password ourselves in the admin & testing it but it still gives the same error. Its as though the account becomes unusable for the customer. I have tied clearing the cache on the pc we are using, trying other pcs but with the same results. Its rather confusing & the only we have found around it is to delete the account & create a new one, losing the info on previous orders. The files you mention. Are they in the CC files or is that on our server? Just checking before I do anything. Cheers G
