I am creating a web store that will have hundreds of products and I was wondering if there is a way I can have a Review/Comment feature for each item so future potential buyers can read what other people who've already bought that item think. Could there be a module for this? I assumed it would come standard with CubeCart v3 like it does with osCommerce and Zencart.

CubeCart 3 is discontinued, and support is going to be very limited, and not a good choice for a new store.

New projects in the immediate future should be CubeCart 4 (which is also coming to an end very soon), and Ideally consider looking at CubeCart 5, both are a much more feature rich system. These are commercial programs, but this should not be be an issue for a business.

I'm not finding any free or commercial mods for CC3 precisely like CC4's Customer Reviews/Testimonials function.

The closest are these two:

http://www.cubecartforums.org/index.php?showtopic=14019 (needs more work)

And it is just a tad bit unfair to compare osCommerce ("open source") or Zencart ("open source") with CubeCart (not "open source").

I believe Devellion codes the feature set according to their estimated return on investment (or should).

And I was not able to determine at what version the Customer Reviews/Tesimonials feature was added to the core feature set of OsCommerce or Zencart. So I would hesitate to make comparisons between unknown stages in each product's evolutionary lifetimes.

I see Devellion's product (especially CC3) as an affordable solution that gets the essential job done. What others may consider a "standard" function may not be what I need, or would want to pay for if I'm not going to use it. I see CC3 as a "pay for what you need", and fortunately, able to add/acquire my own stuff because the code is readable (which is not the same as "open source").

The only reason I'm using CC3 is because that's the only version my web host provides as part of my hosting package. I'm not savvy or patient enough to install a shopping cart manually. But maybe it's time to try.
