Assuming all of the CubeCart application was placed in your hosted space, the next thing to double-check on is if your host has disabled the 'parent' directory traversal (the '..' part of a directory). (I had worked with a CC3 user whose host provider had somehow limited the parent directory traversal to less than four generations. That is, '../../../../file.php' did not work.
