northwalesinks
HI All can somebody explain to me what is differt between Registered Customer - Unregistered Customer & Ghost customers in Cubecart 5 Who can place orders
bsmither
An unregistered customer and a "ghost" customer (uses a "ghost" icon) is the same thing. Until a problem with CC524 gets fixed, an unregistered customer can place one and only one order. The admin will have to change that customer's status to 'Registered'. Registered customers can place more than one order, and has access to an account history and downloads.
Al Brookbanks
Hi Brian, I'm not able to reproduce that problem. See screenshots attached. On second order the customers details as a "Ghost" customer gets updated. Both orders have a customer ID of 5.
northwalesinks
How do ghost customers turn into Registered customers can place more than one order, and has access to an account history and downloads. Anyway of stopping ghost customers placing orders ???
bsmither
@Al, from what I understand about the problem (as read in a few other conversations in the forum), let's assume two distinct sessions (aka two unique visitors) where each is a customer who will check out unregistered (a ghost customer). But let's make these two customers the same person, having come back for a second shopping experience. The first uses [email protected] for an email. The second -- who, according to CubeCart's session management, is a different customer -- also uses [email protected]. CubeCart will display the error that the email is already used. @northwalesinks, you change the type of customer in the Customer Edit screen. Al Brookbanks
Thanks Brian. When I tested I cleared all the domain cookies prior to making the second "Ghost" order so it should be as good as your scenario. I will make further tests. Dirty Butter
Yes, it can be done, but I'm having trouble finding the directions. I'll edit this when I find it.
