Dspooner
Hi we are having our site built and will be having many variation items as this seems best way to offer products to customers to give them the best shopping experience. But currently we display the parent items in all search results and within the category pages and you only see the children once in the parent card. What we want is so you see no parent items and only children on the site like the below link if you do a search on euroffice.co.uk for blue lever arch files it shows only children even if they are both linked to the same parent. below is an example SKU. http://www.euroffice.co.uk/i/1jc/5-Star-Lever-Arch-File-PVC-Spine-70mm-A4-Blue-Pack-10 We have been told this is not possible by our developer as some of our items contain more than one variation but i wanted to check as euroffice.co.uk can do it. Thanks Daniel
bsmither
The developer of your store is unable to discover how to make CubeCart present the products in the same way as euroffice because the applications are not coded the same. That said, a programmer only needs to write the code to make CubeCart behave that way.
Dspooner
Hi in regards to "a programmer only needs to write the code to make CubeCart behave that way." would this be a big job ? regards daniel
bsmither
I would say no (but 'big' is a relative term).
Dspooner
Hi just to confirm even if i had 5 variations, do you think it is possible?? regards daniel
bsmither
The 'technique' would have to be developed to mimic what you saw on the other site: a change in a selected attribute (blue to green, for example) brought an entirely new item page. The 'technique' would apply to any number of attributes (size, color, scent, and many more) and any number of values for each attribute, for any 'parent' item. So, whether your "main" item has two variations (small and big), or sixty variations (or unique combinations of three sizes, four colors, and five scents), the new programming would process it equally. Fewer variations would not make the programming effort any easier.
Dspooner
Hi my programmers have said this is not possible so i am now looking for someone to do this. Would this be something you are able to do and if so how much would it cost? regards daniel
