Nikki72
In today's announcement regarding you'll no longer be supporting Zend you've said to look for with the ionCube PHP Loader v4.4.4, Copyright © 2002-2013, by ionCube Ltd My server is running ionCube 4.4.1. Is this going to be OK or do I need to ask my host to upgrade their ionCube installation??
Al Brookbanks
That will be fine. CubeCart should work on any version of Ioncube. You can see if your store is currently using ioncube or zend by looking at the following file: includes/global.inc.php If you already use Ioncube it will say:$glob['encoder'] = 'ioncube';If this currently has a value of 'zend' and want to check if Ioncube will work you can change the value from 'zend' to 'ioncube' and saving the changes. If you store continues to work you can upgrade. If it doesn't work either get ioncube installed or do not upgrade.

Many hosting companies will have ionCube installed at a server level already but if the tests indicate that they dont, then obviously ask them first before thinking about upgrading but the chances are that if they dont already have it installed, then they are unlikely to install it for you as some have a policy to not install it. Staying on an old version might be a short term solution but with enhancements and a reasonable number of bug fixes in each new version this is not to be recommended for long term. If any users would like their store moved over to a specialised CubeCart hosting company and benefit from all the extras that we offer, then we do the migration from your current hosting company for free
