bondimedical
Is it necessary to keep this notice in the footer of our websites? If not how do we remove them from the website and the Admin login?
Dirty Butter
You can comment it out or delete it definitely from the bottom of main.php and maybe dashboard.php - not sure on the Admin side.
bsmither
No longer necessary. Find in main.php:Was: {include file='templates/ccpower.php'} Now: {* include file='templates/ccpower.php' *}or delete.
bondimedical
Hi Al. I have had a look at the link profile of your website cubecart.com and you have a disproportionate amount of links with anchor text "CubeCart". This is viewed by Google as an unnatural link and can result in penalties to your website. http://www.hiswebmarketing.com/footer-links-and-penalties/What I recommend you do is make this a nofollow link in ccpower. bsmither
That should be line 22 of the admin template login.php.
Al Brookbanks
Come on guys.. keep it in and support us! CubeCart is free!
Dirty Butter
Maybe a badge would be better - I have badges in my footer and wouldn't mind adding something, as long as it wasn't too intrusive.
Al Brookbanks
I was only joking. You can take it out.. our success is your success however. The more we are known about the faster the product will develop.
Daniel-Nicholas
Good afternoon,I believe this to be my first ever post and have been using Cubecart for quite a few years now. Recently I am seeing (Powered by Cubecart) in my title tags and the branding 'ecommerce software powered by cubecart' at the footer. How do I remove these ?When I logn to my admin, the 'copyright removal key' field is now blank and will not allow me to store the information as before.I have the Fusion template running and although I have googled this problem, I cannot seem to find anybody else that is experiencing it so I can only assume it is a recent problem ?Thanks for any pointershttp://www.howarth-jewellery.co.uk
bsmither
Welcome Daniel-Nicholas! Glad to see you made it to the forums. Please read through the News and Announcements. The license server switch-off is probably what it causing the branding to appear. There is instruction to download the latest version of the CubeCart family (CC4 or CC5) and to replace just the existing index.php and admin.php files. You will also read about another code edit necessary to deal with a vulnerability. Daniel-Nicholas
Thank you for your reply. I thought I had done this months ago in preperation but I will double check and let you know. The vulnerability issue, I only spotted yesterday and have made the changes. Thanks I have downloaded version 5.2.12 as suggested here https://forums.cubecart.com/topic/49845-important-software-license-system-switch-off-7dec15/ and replaced the admin.php file but there is no change and I am still seeing the (Powered by) and I flushed the cache. Thanks againAndrew
Daniel-Nicholas
Ok, I tried entering the copyright removal key into my admin area and this time it accepted the info and all is wel once more.CheersAndrew
bsmither
The instructions are to download the latest version of the CubeCart family. For CubeCart 5, the latest version is 5.2.17 (not 5.2.12).
havenswift-hosting
Ok, I tried entering the copyright removal key into my admin area and this time it accepted the info and all is wel once more. All will be well (on that front anyway) until the licence server is switched off which has now been delayed for a few months. However, you should immediately follow the instructions regarding upgrading to 5.2.17 (or as a very minimum the admin.php) to 5.2.17 as you are currently open to a very serious security hole that allows anyone to access the admin side of your storeIan
