Can you help me out on this one:

I use the PHP mail function in cubecart, that

works for our newsletters, but get this

the receivers as the sender:

[email protected]; on behalf of; Marcel Klein

[[email protected]]

And this goes away so in the SPAM

Settings:

PHP Mail ()

sender: Ek & Mk luxury an More

mail sender: [email protected]

Both for host and outgoing SMTP

Server port: mail. ek-mk.nl

This same also happens with your own mail,

is not so neat to our customers

Auth. It is set to on!!!

Answer is from hosting:

If the SMTP authentication in your CMS, you can verify that the messages be turned on with or are sent as [email protected]

If you are still [email protected] as sender it says, means that your SMTP authentication does not work or is the incorrect login details has set up in the SMTP authentication settings (password and user name is not correct).

But the newsletters and send, oops please help

Hi

You have setting set to use PHP mail so the SMTP setting will not be used. Switch to using SMTP, ensure you have correct settings, ensure you have correct rDNS set up and have SPF records set on your DNS records. Then it is unlikely any emails will go into spam - the reason they are now is that you are sending unauthenticated emails and probably dont have any of the above

Thanks

Ian

Try:

Verzend Methode: SMTP

Naam van de afzender: Ek Mk Luxury  (<== do not use &)

Uitgaande SMTP Host: mail.ek-mk.nl

Uitgaande SMTP Port: 25

SMTP-verificatie: Ja

SMTP-gebruikersnaam: authentic email address

SMTP-Wachtwoord: authentic email password

A test was made:

telnet mail.ek-mk.nl 25

and a response was received:

220 d248.webcreators.nl ESMTP Exim 4.84 Fri, 27 Mar 2015 22:07:01 +0100

So this is a good SMTP server.

However, a test at MXToolbox.com showed a "Reverse DNS" warning.

The SMTP banner issued by your email server did not contain the hostname we resolved for your server’s IP address.

The MX Record (priority 0) points to mail.ek-mk.nl, and that is at 84.244.181.170 (which is also the IP address of the web server*). The SPF record mentions 84.244.181.113 with a softfail for any other IP address as a sender.

The above would concern me and I would endeavor to learn more. I am not an email server expert, so I cannot give any more assistance.

The bottom line: if CubeCart can send an email to any person, then the problem is not with CubeCart.

This phrase:

[email protected]; on behalf of; Marcel Klein

says to me (because I've seen this before with Gmail) that somewhere domain names are not matching where it is important that they do match.

* Note: there are many conversations that reveal the email server and the web server are on the same server box (same IP address). The conclusion is that this scenario may present a problem.
