Why the category menu disappears on basket/chechout pages

Hi

Why is the category menu (top horizontal dynamic one) disappears when you are in the basket or checkout pages ? It then finally re-appears at the end of processing an order. It does not make sense and from a customer's point of view, it is off putting. It looks like we are being transferred to another site thus risk of losing the customer's trust at this stage and the resulting sales.

A great deal of ecommerce stores these days go to a more basic layout during checkout so not to distract the customer from making the purchase. You can easily copy content from the main.php file into the main.checkout.php file if you want.

Thanks for your quick reply. Great, I was hoping that I could do that. In all honestly, I did not look at the page coding yet, was primarily checking functionality & design, so great news :-)

I put it back with no issues. My thinking is it increases the likelihood that they would look for additional items to add to the cart.

Absolutely and it looks far more consistent in terms of design while keeping the customer's trust. If a website keeps changing style on different pages, you start wondering where you are and whether you should trust that company when it comes to entering your personal and card details. I know I would.
