keat
In 'Products' on the admin side, is there any way to arrange products by stock value. On our V3 site we use a mod that allows to see at a glance which products are marked out of stock. There doesn't appear to be such a thing on V6. Dirty Butter
Are you using the Option Matrix? I don't, and I can still sort my stock level from the Product listing screen.
keat
I don't appear to have a sort arrow on the stock column. I'm assuming the 'Handy Wipes' are only at the top of the list as I modified today.
bsmither
Being able to sort by Stock Level is a code hack (I believe Dirty Butter and a couple of others implemented it on their own stores. On CC6's Dashboard, Stock Warnings tab, is a list of items at or below the Stock Level Warning threshold. For the threshold to work properly, each product, on the General tab, has a setting to specify how low this stock level can go before being included in this warning list. If the product has no specific threshold, then in Store Settings, Stock tab, there is a "Global stock warning level" setting. The Product Inventory list defaults to sorting by "Last Updated". You can tell because the sorter icon will be different according to what the sort is at currently.
keat
I never spotted 'Stock Warnings' This will suffice.
Dirty Butter
Mine has been tweaked, but I didn't think that tweak worked if the store was using the Option Matrix - hence the question about the matrix.
keat
Stock moves very quickly here, sometimes it can be out and back in the same day, so being able to locate an out of sock item easily is a must. I'm more than happy with Stock Warnings
bsmither
As well, I wrote a hack that will send an email alert to the admin(s) when any item goes below the threshold.
keat
We only use stock level on the cart when an item is actually out of stock, we take more telephone orders than web orders All items are generally marked as zero stock, with the 'use stock level' checkbox unchecked. When an item goes out of stock, we will mark it accordingly, when it comes back in again, it's handy to find it, rather than having to go look. Also, we can see at a glance if something is marked out of stock on the web when it shouldn't be.
