Triscot
Similar to other Topics I am getting the error message: " "The following errors were detected:Unfortunately there are no suitable shipping methods available for your order. This may be because the total weight of your order is too high or we cannot ship to your country. Please contact a member of our staff for any further inquiries." In this case the site functions just fine, but this error message will confuse and scare people away from the site. Odd you can click the error message "off", login/register, and complete the transaction. What is missing is some text stating: In order to complete your transaction please login or register. So to clarify the error message appears as soon as you go to the shopping cart, before you have a chance you creating your shipping address. The site URL: http://africandesertcrafts.com/shop6 Unfortunately there are no suitable shipping methods available for your order. This may be because the total weight of your order is too high or we cannot ship to your country. Please contact a member of our staff for any further inquiries. Dirty Butter
What shipping modules are you using?

bsmither
Assuming Free Shipping and USPS modules are enabled: Free Shipping allows for a minimum subtotal (must spend more than this) and a maximum weight (must weigh less than this). Please let us know what these values are. USPS requires a USPS provided access code to use the USPS Web Tools API. It is not the same as the username/password you use to access your USPS Business Shipper's Account at USPS. The USPS Rate Request and Response will be in Cubecart's admin, Request Log. Triscot
Free Shipping: minimum: 200.00 maximum: blank USPS Shipping: This is a Cubecart update from version 4.4.8 (the shipping has been functioning correctly since about 2010) Shipping was calculating fine in version 4.4.8 the shipping username is the same in the updated site http://africandesertcrafts.com/shop6/ as it is the original site http://africandesertcrafts.com/shop. I don't see a place in either version of cubecart to put USPS provided access code. Just in case there was a problem transferring the old USPS API I did create a new account, and place the username in 6.0 field, and got the same results. Triscot
Sorry miss read one of your questions: Maximum weight was blank, I changed it to 50. Still getting error message. Just clarify: If I login prior to placing a product in the cart I do not get an error message, and I can complete my transaction without a problem. http://africandesertcrafts.com/shop6/
bsmither
By 'USPS provided access code', I mean "USPS Username" that USPS sent to you in an email. Until CubeCart has the customer's delivery address, CubeCart uses the store's address as specified in Store Settings, General tab. Therefore, a "guest" (as opposed to a logged in "customer") will have CubeCart use (Botswana?) as a delivery address to provide estimated shipping and tax charges. In the Free Shipping module, do you have any zones in the Allowed Zones or Disabled Zones tabs?
Triscot
Got it, set it, still have error. I first used the "USPS Username" that worked in the 4.4.8 version of the shop, and then tried a new "USPS Username" after I set up a new account in case there was a problem with the old account. I thought the problem might be somewhere else do to the fact the site functions correctly as long as I login or register (login/register= client shopping on the site)prior to placing an item in the cart. Dirty Butter
6.0.10 has a new setting in Admin>Store Settings>Features down at the bottom of the page: Disable initial shipping & tax estimates Is that checked or not?
bsmither
USPS needs a ZIP destination. Until the customer logs in, or otherwise provides a destination address during checkout, CubeCart uses the store's address as the destination. In the Free Shipping module, do you have any zones in the Allowed Zones or Disabled Zones tabs?
Triscot
Admin>store Settings>Features bottom of page: Misc? (listed below are options. Am I in the wrong place? don't see Disable initial shipping & tax estimate) Order status for admin email notifications Increment Order ID (Experimental) Don't check skipped order processing email Hide prices until logged in Disable Checkout (Catalogue Mode Only) Allow physical orders even if no shipping options are available Disable Checkout (Catalogue Mode Only) Enable EU Cookie Compliance Force Order Completed Emails In the Free Shipping module I do not have any zones selected in Allowed or Disabled PROBLEM SOLVED! bsmither nailed it!! " CubeCart uses the store's address as the destination. " Under General settings postal code was blank, added a postal code: SUCCESS Thank you bsmither!!! bsmither
The "Increment Order ID" setting tells me you are on a version earlier than CC608. (Not really a problem other than a potential security vulnerability.) Free Shipping should be working - especially since you are not restricting the module to only the "United States" - assuming the shopping cart has items worth $200.00 or more. I'm stumped.
