Chris_St
Hi, I have obtained an API for Aus Post for the extension yet when I try out a purchase on the site there is no postage being added. I have entered a weight in the product info. I see that in the manage extensions area there are fields for postcode and size (Height × Width × Length) but as I have products being sold directly from artists and therefore posted from various locations across Australia I can't enter a default value in there. Is there a way around this? Regards, Chris australianartforsale.net
havenswift-hosting
Do Aus Post charge different amounts depending on starting location and destination or is it universal pricing as in most countries ? If universal then it should make no difference what postcode you enter and you need to have a value in there. Ian
Chris_St
Hi Ian, They charge by weight or by dimensions whichever is the greater and rates will change from one postcode to another, Regards, Chris
Dirty Butter
When you list a specific artist's work do they provide dimensions and their post code?
Chris_St
Yes they do. Weight, width, length and height
Dirty Butter
I wouldn't be the one who could do it, but it seems reasonable to be able to edit the Aus Post code to template the dimensions (and post code?) code from the product listing information. There is an Additional Tabs plugin that might help get the dimension and origin zip into the postal plugin.

keat
It might have to be something custom if you can't find a work around or anything suitable. There are a number of very good coders on here. I can't imagine custom coding would be too expensive.
Chris_St
Thanks for all the input. I have decided to use the weight system for this and added in a default value for packaging and that seems to be working Ok. Cheers, Chris
