bsmither
Welcome saeed07970! Glad to see you made it to the forums. These can be used safely as these operations merely call the appropriate functions in the Database group of functions (the 'class'). Those functions merely send the standard SQL commands to the database server to repair or check tables. These operations are useful if CubeCart reports an error sent back by the database server saying a table has crashed. (For as long as MySQL has been around, it seems finding and solving how a database table could crash has not had any success. As such, there is a command specifically used to repair a crashed table.) With regard to not being able to save your store, is this actually the "Backup" operation? If not, please let us know what you mean by having a problem "saving" your store. saeed07970
Hi, thank you for your reply and I have benefited from other toppings in the forums, you are right that by saving I meant backup, lay out backup is OK, but the (Click backup to build a compressed archive of your entire store) not responding. bsmither
The largest portion of the backup could be the /images/source/ directory. The backup should be excluding the cache directories. CubeCart will rebuild the caches when necessary. If you can determine how many MB of source images you have, and that quantity is substantial, you may wish to FTP all the images to another location and delete them from the site. The backup should go a lot quicker. Then FTP the images back to your site. As a practical matter, however, if no core CubeCart code has been edited, there really is no need to backup that core code as you can always get a download package from CubeCart HQ. Many modules are also available for re-installation. Any paid-for skins, languages, and modules you have installed, images in /images/logos/ and the file /includes/global.inc.php is really all you need to backup. And your hosting provider may have a utility that will backup your entire hosted account - including email accounts and general Cpanel settings.
