The Estuary Shop
I have downloaded Cube Cart 6.17 but I a unable to install. I am attempting to create a new website. Please provide insight on the step to get started. Is there a different place I should go to set up the site?
Dirty Butter
Perhaps this will be helpful: https://support.cubecart.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/227/41/how-can-i-install-cubecart-v6
havenswift-hosting
Do you have a hosting account with a company like us or are you thinking you will install it on your local Windows server (something that can be done but isnt officially supported and something I cannot help with as never done it as only work with Linux servers). That is the first important question which determines much of whatever comes next Ian
The Estuary Shop
I purchased a domain with hostgator. Can I use cubecart through them?
Dirty Butter
I used to use Hostgator for our CC installs. I'm assuming you have hosting through them as well? They have different packages that might make a difference in how well CC runs.
havenswift-hosting
Hi You can if you also purchase a hosting package with them where you can upload the files. However you dont have to use them and can use any other hosting company and simply point your domain to that company. We specialise in hosting CubeCart websites and provide free support for CubeCart with our hosting and I will even install it for you ! hostgator are one of the big "box shifter" type hosting companies and wont know anything about CubeCart and will probably care even less Ian
The Estuary Shop
What hosting site would you suggest? I want to stick with CC because I am familiar with them.
Dirty Butter
Frankly, it was customer service with a CC related issue that caused me to change to hosting with Havenswift.
The Estuary Shop
Where can I go to look at the rates of your hosting plans?
havenswift-hosting
Our CubeCart Shared hosting plans can be seen here https://www.havenswift-hosting.co.uk/website-hosting/cubecart-shared-hosting/ although I would strongly recommend a dedicated IP address and a SSL Security certificate as well. It might be best to take this off of the forums and happy to chat via our live chat facility on our website. Incidentally, we have today moved two customers from hostgator to us for similar lack of customer service ! Ian
